.....Can you read? "About the wooden part (referring to the wooden grippy thing near the barrel)" The metal equivvilant of the wooden part is what I want to look war-torn.
There are no metal handguards, but yes, whatever it is, it can look like wood.
The Dboy handguards are plastic.
The Dboy handguards are plastic.
You mean...oh god. Plastic is awful. Just to be sure, you mean the one you were referring to when talking about staining it? If so, I definately will go with the CYMA instead of Dboys.
The Dboy handguards are plastic.
Wrong.
So many conflicting reviews! :ohdear: I'm just going to get the Dboys one...it's not like a bunch of 15 year olds will care about if it's got a wooden handguard or not.

Plasic isn't bad. It's not cheap shit that's going to break when you touch it. I would say you could throw the handguards off a building and trust them to be in one piece somewhere at the bottom.
The CYMA has wooden handguards. The Dboys on ASGI has plastic handguards. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_211&products_id=2903 That one. "Features: Metal Side Folding Stock Metal Receiver and Barrel Assembly Imitation wood furniture Front and Rear Sling Attachment Points" Plastic really isnt a big deal. Infact, plastic can be better than the metal found in some of the guns at this price range. Also, Nifae, dont expect metal handguards unless its a RIS/RAS.

[editline]02:08AM[/editline] I know mine is wood.
You can always get aftermarket wood. It's not that expensive and if I'm not mistaken you can get real steel handguards because of the Dboys design.
Quick question. Has anyone done a maritime warfare OP? As in airsoft battles between boats? Because that would be awesome.
Is $370 a good price for a full metal G&G M16 considering that I'm in Canada and guns are more expensive here?
Is $370 a good price for a full metal G&G M16 considering that I'm in Canada and guns are more expensive here?
Yes.
Quick question. Has anyone done a maritime warfare OP? As in airsoft battles between boats? Because that would be awesome.
It would. Until someone falls in the water and ruins half their gear and equipment. Or drowns in their gear.
My local place has Zodiacs.
It would. Until someone falls in the water and ruins half their gear and equipment. Or drowns in their gear.
Well, provided we were adhering to the maritime safety protocols. So we'd have life jackets and the sort. And if they do fall in, sure they might have a few things ruined, but at least the gun will still work (provided they didn't shoot it while underwater).
I dunno. I'd be comfortable running a GBB underwater, but for all the "theoretical" reasons an AEG shouldn't be damaged, I really wouldn't want to risk submerging my rifle... and let's not even talk about some of the more expensive optics.
Like I said, as long as you don't shoot it underwater, you won't short out anything.
Hey Guys, just a quick question. I've picked up some lab glasses for chemistry this year and apparently my friend says they're 'airsoft proof' just wondering if any of you could give me a definite yes or no answer. They're 'Swiss One CrackerJack' safety glasses rated as: CE EN166:2001 EN170/EN172

No, chemistry lab glasses aren't for Airsoft. Even if they MAY be, do you really want to risk your eyes? [editline]04:36PM[/editline] And the ones in my Chem class last year couldn't take that fo sho.

So I got a KJW P226 on the way, and I've been seriously considering doing something like this to the slide flats: (Basically polish/buff the slide flats, but leave the grooves and the top black) What'd be the best way to go about doing something like that?
Holy fuck that looks awesome. Do it.
I'm thinking of something like this on the P226: Only not nearly as shiny. But I'm not sure if I'd rather do the entire slide, or just the slide flats like the above picture.
That's a sexy pistol.

Do it. If the slide is metal you could use steel wool probably.
Very sexy. Do it. If the slide is metal you could use steel wool probably.
I would use a dremel with a sanding wheel, and then switch to a buffing wheel.
Yeah, I was thinking of grabbing a dremel and sand it until it's nice and light, then hit it with a buffing wheel, maybe use a bit of Mother's Polish on it or someshit. I don't want it to be like a mirror though, just a light silver-ish color.
