Hey guys. I haven't played airsoft or paintball in what seems decades (a year). I got bit by the bug again and want to restart with airsoft. However, since I don't have a job (age) I won't be able to buy any decent guns until Christmas so I can combine my all my allowance with gift money. So, is it too early to start looking at guns and gear? I know that in PC Building planning purchases over a month are ill advised since prices change for parts frequently. Is it the same for airsoft? Thanks.
I can almost guarantee you that holographic is longer than 5 rail out-dents, so only if you won't mind it looking a little odd. I personally think risers are ugly and unnecessary, as I can just tilt my head an extra 10 degrees and see just fine.
Yeah, but I can't aim down my sights with the goggles I have to wear. If I could just use shooting glasses, I'd prolly be fine, but it's a pain in the ass to stare down the iron sights, let alone anything else.

I'm going to get a new gun for Christmas, so what do you guys think for a new primary to replace my CA M15? G&G or KWA? Anything else? How are Dboys? I'm thinking of getting a Dboy AK or a M16A4 for a loaner/backup/costume weapon.
Get the AK, or at least an AK.
Dboys makes awesome AK's.

I'll post my setups tomorrow. So Combat Machines, G & G, Classic Army, Tokyo Marui, Echo 1, and JG are good brands? And judging from OP, Airsoft Extreme and Airsoft GI are the best sites? [editline]12th October 2010[/editline] Oh yeah does Airsoft GI make good guns? They use parts from Combat Machines or something.

G&G Affordable Series = Combat Machine Airsoft GI's guns are pretty good from what I hear, but I'm more than happy with just a base-line Combat Machine.
So G & G and Combat Machine are good?
Very good.
Might be some newbie mistakes, like battery size or something. Budget is going to probably be between $275 and $345. Remember, I'm purchasing one of these in 2 months with Christmas money. It is ranked in the order "most wanted" to "least wanted". Oh yeah, the field I used to play at is an outdoor one. FPS limit is 400 FPS. Field is somewhat big from what I remember. I play all day, so battery life should be 5 hours at least, 7 is preferred. Save some cash and get the JG G36C instead of the Echo1 version.
I've heard that JG wasn't as good as Echo1. Oh well. However, as you can see I would rather get an AK74 or SCAR. If previous choices aren't good, then I'll consider the JG G36C.
Nothing wrong with the choices, actually. Just suggesting that as a replacement for that last possible loadout you had listed there. I'd go with the DBoys AK74 if that's the gun you want to pick up, it's renowned as a damn good gun according.
I have a G.I. Custom. Hands down the best gun I've ever owned. It's solid. Feels just as good as metal, and sounds terrifyingly awesome.

Just need to wait 2 months for cash. [editline]13th October 2010[/editline] Wait are there better AK74s that are around $200? Just want to consider all the options.
Hey guys, I always considered silenced pistols to be really badass, I was wondering where I can get a gas blowback with a silencer, doesn't really matter what gun it is, but probably an m9... Also being made out of full metal is a plus as it adds more realism.
You realize that Airsoft suppressors don't really do anything other than possibly hide extra barrel length? You can probably make the suppressor yourself.
I could have sworn that foam-filled mock suppressors actually do muffle the noise somewhat.
I could have sworn that foam-filled mock suppressors actually do muffle the noise somewhat.
About 10 decibels. Very easy to fuck up and kill your accuracy though.
Codemonkey, what you want is a KWA Armalite... join the cult...
I could have sworn that foam-filled mock suppressors actually do muffle the noise somewhat.
If it's a GBB, most sound would come from the slide moving back and forth rather than the muzzle. Any difference it would be hard to notice.

Agree with the two previous posters, but get a 9.6v battery.
Does anyone know how Condor's sizing works? I usually hear "Get a size larger" so when I ordered my gloves I got large, since I'm pretty sure I run a medium. Safe bet?
Does anyone know how Condor's sizing works? I usually hear "Get a size larger" so when I ordered my gloves I got large, since I'm pretty sure I run a medium. Safe bet?
Um. When we say "A size larger", it's usually because those soft shells are a slim fit. So if you go up a size larger, it's a bit more comfy. However, I do not think the same applies to gloves. I have a large sized hand, so when I ordered them from VooDoo Tactical, I got a large, and they fit perfect. The worse case in your scenario, is that you have an extra bit of length on the fingers.
Hey everyone, I should be getting a new AEG sometime soon. I'm stepping up from the likes of Echo 1, JG, etc, to a more higher end AEG. My top choices for a new AEG would either be a KWA M4 RIS or Classic Army SCAR-L, I was also looking at the Magpul Masada which looks really nice but is costly. Anyways, which one do you think I should purchase, and why? Oh, and I play mostly field, if you're wondering.
Get this one, I have the same gun and it's awesome.
I actually want to get the Echo 1 since it is black. Also, I think 8.4v is enough for me, as long as the bbps is at least 10 or so. I'll look at 9.6v batteries though.
