Im in college, I pay for my gas (and other shit now that Im out of house). I guess I would rather save up for something that was essentially hand built and of bomb-proof quality and American made than "get it now" and have some cheap crappy thing that's not going to last a years worth of daily use and was mass produced by some Chinese company that has no warranty or custom care whatsoever. [editline]14th October 2010[/editline] To me it comes down to supporting business practices that you like. Not a huge fan of blatantly ripping off ridiculously small, highly innovative (TAD employs what, like ~30 people?) companies, making products overseas, and then not standing behind the product in any way, shape, or form.
Kind like when my dad had a birding store where he built his own birdfeeders and houses, then the Walmart down the street starting stocking their shitty quality but cheaper feeders and houses. More people went to Walmart because people are cheap cunts. I blame Capitalism.
If your dad wanted people to buy from him, he should have stayed competitive. It's actually a free market issue, not a capitalism issue.
Actually, it was a Stealth Jacket. There's talk of it being true of other garments now, too.
If your dad wanted people to buy from him, he should have stayed competitive. He did try to stay competitive, but I'm just putting the point out that people should support small local businesses instead of the big box stores, especially since most of the big stores have a product that is much worse in quality.
In some cases yes. However, when it comes to guitar, I shop at Guitar Center, a big store. While they're a franchise and there are local stores, I get the same product for cheaper. So in many cases, it comes down to whoevers cheaper, not when it's about brands though.
Are PCU jackets really warm? I was going to do a Ranger impression someday in the future with the PCU jacket, ACU trousers, RG MBAV, Ranger SOP customized MICH 2000, etc.
Yeah, they're warm. Super nice though if you live in cold weather though.
Ah, I suppose I could use a combat shirt in place of it, then. The climate down here can be extremely damp and humid. Although, I don't think I'll be doing a Ranger loadout soon, just got a new loadout not too long ago and now I'm broke. And Ranger loadouts aren't exactly cheap, either.
You want Rangers, look up Zaitsev on ASF- guys got the best ranger impression I've ever seen.
I agree, I'm just saying you can't blame all of capitalism for the free market.
I know. I hate capitalism in general anyway so I just find excuses to hate on it lots. /offtopic
In relation to real guns they are.
No shit. What you should do is find the model GBB you want. Get a threaded barrel in the right size for it, then buy a suppresser.
Actually, it was a Stealth Jacket. There's talk of it being true of other garments now, too.
I waited to respond to this since I had Emailed TAD about it. The response I got basically said that they needed to go overseas due to the fact that the very important process of seam welding is basically unavailable in the US. TAD on seam welding:
Sew-Free" or heat-pressure-adhesive fab methods, also known as "welding". This one key fab method is becoming an extinct, if not already an extinct production process on domestic soil. We lost our last source sveral years ago with the 1st run of Pathfinders. The factory we were working with closed up those doors soon after. We're a SMALL company. We do not make 10K+ pieces in anything. We have to work with specialty factories that can handle our qtys, here or abroad.
http://www.tripleaughtdesign.com/Apparel/Sweaters-Hoodies/Creature-Hoodie_2 Worth it, or do I go with the EBairsoft clone?
http://www.tripleaughtdesign.com/Apparel/Sweaters-Hoodies/Creature-Hoodie_2 Worth it, or do I go with the EBairsoft clone?
Go with the clone, only because once a Creature year sells out, they dont come back in stock. You would have to wait a year. Unless you fit into an XL :v: I managed to get one before they sold out. Its basically a less tactical version of the Shag master. Its absolutely RIDICULOUSLY comfortable and warm. Plus it had lots of other cool, practical features. A friend of mine bought the clone for comparisons sake, I would do a side by side review, but Im at college. The Clone is basically the same thing but less comfortable and with less sturdy stitching, didn't come with the ears or horns though. Edit: Blurry as hell pic: You could also go with the Shag Master TBH, its basically the Creature without the ears, and with higher up chest pockets for access though a tac vest. And velcro for patches.
I'm not sure. It looks really cute with the ears on it. And if I didn't want to have them I could just take them off right?
Yep. Does the EB one have the ears and horns? I lost my set of horns and I want another set so I dont match the other guy in my area with the ears. This is him. He scares me. [editline]15th October 2010[/editline] Oh shit, I just looked at the EB one, DONT buy it if you want to use the ears. They made it so they velcro onto the ranger eye patches on the outside-back of the hood, they would just flop down and look really weird, and would probably fall off. The way TAD does it, the ear stays up and is velcroed to the inside of the hood with two pieces of velcro so it wont flop down or fall off. Also, posted while wearing Shag Master. Because Im a fanboy, and its really cold in here.
So either wait or get it in XL and wear a Shag Master Robe?
So either wait or get it in XL and wear a Shag Master Robe?
Either: -Buy now from TAD and get Creature robe (tm) -Buy clone version, wait 2 months for it to get here, don't get good ears/horns. -Wait till the 2011 Creature comes out next year. -Buy Shag Master, don't any sort of ears/horns.
I wanted to get a Creature hoodie for X-Mas, but now that you tell me a new one is coming out next year, I'm deciding whether I should wait, or get one for this winter.
I wanted to get a Creature hoodie for X-Mas, but now that you tell me a new one is coming out next year, I'm deciding whether I should wait, or get one for this winter.
If you can fit into the sizes they have left, go for it, they are AWESOME winter coats.
Being six feet tall, and 204 pounds, I think I can manage an XL. Lol
Being six feet tall, and 204 pounds, I think I can manage an XL. Lol
TAD shit runs pretty damn big, be warned. Rule of thumb is one size smaller than you usually wear.
Okay, next gun I get will either be: AGM M4 JG G36C A&K SPC MOD1 CYMA AIMS DBoys M16A4 Agree for M4, Disagree for G36, Funny for SPC, Informative for AIMS, Heart for M16. EDIT: Damn double post and wrong thread.
This reminds me, today I bought a brand new G36C JG to replace my dead M4. Must buy some midcaps now (only had money for one, wanna buy at least 4 more). Also they fit like shit into my M4 mag pouches. Are there specific MOLLE G46 mag pouches? Or what should I buy? PASTED REPLY, suppose it could fit here. So well, what should I get to carry my mags?
AK pouches I think.
Is this any good? http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=6921
Is this any good? http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=6921
Yeah, they are totally awesome. Since all of the mag pouches are integrated, you have a ton a room for accessory pouches and the like. Almost all of the M203 grenadiers Ive seen use them. Only issue I had when I tried it on was that it tends to stick out sort of far from your chest. Nothing worse than a quad-AK mag pouch really though.
Ah, cause I've been looking at MOLLE Chest Rigs, it that or, http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_172&products_id=2050 [editline]17th October 2010[/editline] http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=1868 Could I use that on a Combat Machine?
Ah, cause I've been looking at MOLLE Chest Rigs, it that or, http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=28_172&products_id=2050
Warlord chest rigs are not real useful unless you are running command, or are running intel gathering OPs. They have seriously limited MOLLE space.
Ok, I gotcha. Cause I liked the RPK, but it's kind of costly, and I cant think what pouch could hold its mags, so I'm wondering what I should do?
