That is pretty curious, I have the exact opposite favorites, including AOM:DC, They Hunger, GHOULS 3D, etc. But in reality this is like debating slightly different mixtures of perfection.

Yeah. It's not like Borderlands 2 where it can be fun with or without friends.
But Dead Island is only good for single if you want to get the story and generally rush through it at your own pace.
Otherwise yes, buddies is a must. Even if it's just one.
