So intentions are what matter?
So what if before leaving, the doctor killed all the people he left behind in order to spare them from a more painful death? Would that be okay if his intentions were pure?
But you're piling on things, that's another decision to make and the choice is not all on that on the doctor.
Religion is used to once explain phenomena.
Today, religion is vital to society in where it teaches individuals on how to live a virtuous life in accordance to written teachings of a number of well-known prophets. Lessons are learned through stories and epics involving God/gods and spirits interacting with Humans.
Religion will always play a huge role in many societies
All my morals and values I learnt from basic human instinct. Inherently we are capable of good things and bad things. I don't need a religion to teach me how to live my life. I'd rather learn from experience and from the teachings of my parents. We are one of the only species on this planet capable of altruism and nurturing our children even when they are older. We, as the human race, have no need for religion, instead we should create morality from what we know and experience. If my child asks me why he shouldn't punch some kid, I'm not going to tell him that he will go to hell. I will tell him that it causes unnecessary suffering to someone else. I find that much more valuable as a lesson then just being afraid of some non-existent guy in the sky.

You know why Human is better than God?
Human is.

News flash: Life is decision put on top of decision. Everything anyone does plays together. And you still haven't answered my main question.

I remember saying something like that when I was 10, scares the hell outta 'em.
There are lots of contradictions, if you actually think about them you will realise alot of things don't make sense. If the bible is the word of god, then it should be relevant to all times and you shouldn't choose what you want to believe from it and what you don't.
For example, this:
You: what can God do?
Stranger: Anything
You: can he get rid the world from evil?
You: can he prevent evil?
Stranger: No, he can not.
Stranger: We put evil in the world.
You: so he doesn't have unlimited power?
Stranger: God gave us free will
You: so we're more powerful than he?
Stranger: No we do not
They just said God can do anything, and then said God can't stop evil.
If you'd find him anywhere it would be by the tracks, drinking himself to sleep since the day that he made us.
Or something like that.
Johny Hobo and The Freight trains rules.
You nasty little troll you.

Why would he stop evil? Without evil there would be no good. I'm pretty sure life without good or evil will be pretty dull and boring.
OMG U BELEEVE IN GOD LOL UR SO DUMB LOL!!1
Now to get to the point.
Some believe evil is because of sin or that it is the work of satan. Also people have theorised that it is there to "test" us. Others think evil is simply caused by the actions of people themselves.
Edit: I actually doubt most of facepunch atheists have ever argued with real christians. Most examples people post are imagined or copy paste. Prove me wrong please.
what if god...was one one us....
JUST A SLOB LIKE ONE OF US...
JUST A STRANGER ON A BUS
TRYING TO MAKE HIS WAY HOME
AND YEAH
AND YEAH
AND YEAH
AND YEAH
GOD IS GREAT
AND YEAH
AND YEAH
AND YEAH
AND YEAH
GOD IS GOOD

But doesn't the Bible command you to stone homosexuals to death.

Intentions do matter, the doctor is going to do his job at the best of his ability, not doing that already puts him at fault. Killing people to save them from terrible agony and a painful death can be seen as malpractice and really no doctor would even do that. So with the intentions of being a good doctor and doing his job, that part of the scenario is out the door.
The doctor is there to assist the sick and wounded, EVACs priority one is to get them out first, so why bother contemplating who leaves. it's not pinned on the doctor. Now whether or not he'll be blamed for those deaths from a religions/god stand point, I've asked this question before and I've been told no one can know if that doctor would be either pinned for it or not, they're not god, they can't answer that. Yes I know how upsetting that is getting an answer like that is.

The book of Leviticus also tells you to stone disobedient children.

Selective interpretation of the old testament, which is a millenia old, is what is wrong.
