I suppose it's healthier, and at the same time, theres that Quorn stuff. It's all down to preference/what you think is moral.
I don't hate vegitarians, I'm a meatlover (i love more than one type of meat, if you know what I mean and I think you do. Heh.) but I hate PETA with a passion
Enjoy your low protien diet, worm.
Real men like me eat steak and ribs.

Elaborate an explanation, please.
Thank you for that very valid and insightful opinion - ___-
I used to use that argument, and it's pretty poor to be honest, now that I see the other side of the story. But humans do lots of unnatural things... we might have the capacity to eat meat, but I think we're built to primarily consume fruit and veg - it's healtheir for a start, cutting out all that colesterol... anyway, since I'm not going to go on a pro-veggie rampage, I'd appreciate it if people keep their own opinion to themselves.
Um, you know meat contains proteins which build your muscles and body right, and a load of other shit.
If we weren't supposed to eat it, we'd die from it or have no way to eat it physically, or not even grow by evolution to eat it (mentally ignoring meat)
I bet you own something that's leather.
I own a rabbit fur jacket, so like I said, I'm not going on any hypocritical crazy rampage, I've got to start somewhere and fixing my diet's the first thing. I just wanted to see what other veggies had to say to help / encourage / inform. Then I'll see if I can give up that lovely jacket ;____;

Another argument I'd use, but there's things now to supplement these dietry requirements, yes, once-upon-a-time we'd have to eat it to give us what we need, but that's no longer the case.
Not to spit on you, but in my opinion it just doesn't sound logically at all.
The animal is already dead, it has already been prepared for you to eat; it doesn't live just because you won't eat the meat.
Beside that fact: if you really think they're living in pain, why does it bother you that it is dead? Doesn't that bring it out of the pain? Wouldn't it be a waste if you didn't eat it since it has already been processed and is ready?
Just my opinion, I'm sorry if it offended you; it wasn't intentional.
No I'm not offended, but it's funny I think your opinion is illogical! When it comes down to it, it's demand right? If few people demand meat they kill less animals and instead, channel their resources into supplying things people DO want, that's how they make profit right? Giving people what they want? It'd be useless to keep pumping out tonns of product if it wasn't selling, that's the idea behind it, more veggies will choke the industry, hopefully. This is also related to the animal suffering, less meat demanded ---> less animals breeded and being killed. For the suffering part regardless, I view it as getting enjoyment out of something's flesh which, when it was a living creature, may have been confined, beaten, left with disease etc. - how could I enjoy the thought of that? Even if it's dead, it still endured it.
More meat for me
Hmm, your a vegetarian thats cool.
wait that means you don't eat cookies? D: because they have eggs in them.?.
I was an veggie for 4 months. However today I'm eating meat because I can't be bothered to make my own meals and I'm hungry. For all those veggies in shock: No, I don't find the meat attracting at all.
However I'm still a vegetarian, only I can now be classed as a fake one. :(

Nothing is Morals, plants are still living, even if you can't hear the thing scream. It's still living when you boil it to death.
Everytime you eat, everytime you breath, everything you do.

Now now, remember that for every vegetarian that doesn't eat meat, is one more helping of steak for the rest of us.
Vegetarian food tastes like shit, I'd rather have to resort to cannibalism than give up meat.
Oh and becoming a vegetarian because some animals get abused is a stupid reason, do you honestly expect you by yourself would stop the minority that abuses animals, if you don't like the taste of meat then fine you need to eat you've just got to use the alternative.

That's when you stop being a man and you become an animal.
I rather die than eat a fellow person.
This thread reminded me of what me and my girlfriend did yesterday.

Badass.

it all depends on where you draw the line. most vegetarian/vegans do what they do as a personal choice. most aren't trying to save the world, and the ones who do are normally just laughed off anyways. and that means you have your own choice where to draw the line between sentient beings and non-sentient beings.
I am vegetarian, I don't even need meat. It's just fucking disgusting.
I've been thinking about this recently, and I'm pretty positive I can make these lifestyle changes, regardless I've no doubt it might be difficult since I've been brought up eating meat and some days I really have to try hard to remember this is the way I want to live (sounds silly, right?) but I've been so used to just picking up anything I want, so, FPers, are any of you established veggies or thinking / trying to be vegetarian and is there any advice / tips / comments / stories you can deliver?
I also have no doubt PETA can be biased, and I try to look at everything with an open mind, but I wholeheartedly believe that cruelty is happening to animals, it's there, on a wide scale, and I'd rather avoid everything altogether than take the chance that this animal might have been in pain and suffering all it's life (I don't want any 'Oh boohoo' responds to this please).
So, now that I'm done explaining, I'd like to finally ask, what about eggs? I love baking, would even the hardcore veggies say that free range, organic are pretty much a go-ahead?
Hey, OP, watch this video:

I'm actually sexually aroused by that kind of thing so I'd probably enjoy that. But why do you feel this way, anyways?
Being a vegetarian is unhealthy, unnecessary, and stupid.
So why bother?
Also, if you feel bad about some animal dying for you, well then go fuck yourself. Billions among billions of plants, animals, and humans have died in the past. What's the fucking difference? Especially if everything that is living now, is going to die anyway. So go fuck yourself if this is your reasoning.
Look, meat is delicious and it's much funnier to eat.
But, financial and ecologically being a vegetarien is much smarter. Instead of eating from the top of the food chain we could be eating from the bottom. Saving the rainforest and stopping the oceans from being destroyed of its life and what not.
