This thread reminded me of what me and my girlfriend did yesterday.
We butchered a pig together.

Isn't that pretty provacative, potentially offensive and somewhat irrelevant to the purpose of the thread?

In anycase, I don't have a problem with raising your animals freerange etc. then killing them humanely, it's all this packed-in-a-warehouse problem that simply views each animal as so many £££'s and as souless, lifeless, thoughtless creatures that feel nothing and deserve to be treated as such.
Being a vegetarian is unhealthy, unnecessary, and stupid.
So why bother?
Also, if you feel bad about some animal dying for you, well then go fuck yourself. Billions among billions of plants, animals, and humans have died in the past. What's the fucking difference? Especially if everything that is living now, is going to die anyway. So go fuck yourself if this is your reasoning.
yeah you're right i'm gonna go shoot up a school coz those kids are gonna die one day anyway so go fuck yourself if you disagree with my retarded logic

By your logic we should nuke everything because it doesn't make a difference.

UNHEALTHY AS SHIT
Lifting weights will do that, that has nothing to do with veganism, in the slightest
Vegetarians suck, eat meat you maggot.
This is what I hate about all this. People assume that being a vegetarian/vegan = PETA ACTIVIST WE'LL CONVERT YOU etc.
Most vegetarians aren't like that. There are few (like me) who don't like even saying so, because I'm afraid that if I do then there'll be meat eaters there who'll get all "STOP BEING ALL PETA!!!"y on me and try to convert me or force feed me meat. What I people do and don't eat is none of other people's buisiness. I disagree with the vegetarians who try to convert people, as I hate religious people/atheists who try to convert.
I find it ironic, how non-veggies who assume that people who are vegetarian are all activist are terribly hypocritical since they actually get activist themselves by getting all defensive even by someone mentioning that they're vegetarian.
Believe me there are for fewer activist vegetarians than you think, and all you people who are bound to rate me dumb are no better than them in my book. It's the same with religion. Atheists seem to badmouth religion a lot for being intolerant, but it's people like that are what make me ashamed of being an atheist too. I don't understand why people can't just accept that people have different beliefs whether it be about food or something completely different. I get targeted a lot at school for being a veggie, atheist and a non-drinker, but I fail to understand why. I do nothing against them, I don't try to convince them to not eat meat/believe in a god/drink, so I fail to see why they get defensive as soon as it's brought up.
But also, this "PETA !!!" stuff goes beyond just vegetarians and vegans, I saw about a month ago, someone here was flamed for being PETAish simply for being squeamish about a picture of a mutilated dog. It's getting far out of hand. He can all agree that PETA are dicks, but really? I'm hating all of this right now. And yes I know BAWWW and all that, I don't care.

Yeah let's fund the people that gave these animals painful lives gg
Those animals don't even know they exist, and if they do, they won't even remember existing after they're dead. Boohoo, poor animals.
Sort of. I have an eating disorder tho so it doesent realy count. Although I like bacon :P
I've been thinking about this recently, and I'm pretty positive I can make these lifestyle changes, regardless I've no doubt it might be difficult since I've been brought up eating meat and some days I really have to try hard to remember this is the way I want to live (sounds silly, right?) but I've been so used to just picking up anything I want, so, FPers, are any of you established veggies or thinking / trying to be vegetarian and is there any advice / tips / comments / stories you can deliver?
You're going to miss out on some important nutrients if you do it wrong.
http://www.divorcekit.com/vegetarians-lack.htm
I also have no doubt PETA can be biased, and I try to look at everything with an open mind, but I wholeheartedly believe that cruelty is happening to animals, it's there, on a wide scale, and I'd rather avoid everything altogether than take the chance that this animal might have been in pain and suffering all it's life (I don't want any 'Oh boohoo' responds to this please).
It's just too bad that we can't test potentially deadly medication on many people because the lives of mice are more important. I believe it's best to only be against animal cruelty if it starts to affect us negatively. Not your usual "oh boohoo" right?
So, now that I'm done explaining, I'd like to finally ask, what about eggs? I love baking, would even the hardcore veggies say that free range, organic are pretty much a go-ahead?
Eggs are considered meat, so that's out of your diet. Try not to go organic as you might end up getting E. coili infection since organic farmers tend to use cow waste, your typical supermarket greens are much healthier. Don't believe the "organic farms don't use pesticides", no farmer can manage without them.
Lifting weights will do that, that has nothing to do with veganism, in the slightest
I think they're talking about the amount of popped veins, most "normal" body builders I've seen (which ain't alot) don't have bulging veins.
don't like even saying so, because I'm afraid that if I do then there'll be meat eaters there who'll get all "STOP BEING ALL PETA!!!"y on me and try to convert me or force feed me meat.

vegetarians can not exercise this is a myth therefore it is an unhealthy decision
Isn't that pretty provacative, potentially offensive and somewhat irrelevant to the purpose of the thread?
Anything is potentially offensive and a picture of a fridge filled with pig parts that are pretty much not even visible doesn't strike me as something people are often offended by.
Those animals don't even know they exist, and if they do, they won't even remember existing after they're dead. Boohoo, poor animals.
How can something not know it's existing, it would just stand there and die.
It obviously knows it's existing to be mentally there and to provide for it self.

It doesn't know it exists, and runs only on instinct. That's how it provides for itself.

You're not saving animals. You're just opening up a brand new market. It's funny that some people who are morally opposed to eating meat are completely fine with eating food fashioned to look and taste exactly like meat.
Think about that, I'm going to eat pork and rice with a little meat stock and lemon sauce.
And it's going to be delicious.
Vegetarians are unhealthy scumbags.

Sorry I don't know all the sciency mumbo jumbo behind it, but it is unhealthy to not have a healthy diet.
