i love man meat :q:
Ate some porkchops today, was really good actually. Felt tastier and better to eat, since I've been a part of the process (and my girl has raised the pig from birth). Kinda cool when you think about it
Well yeah, who knows what shit they put in that stuff at normal places.
Vegetarianism in adults isn't as terrible as vegetarianism in kids. Kids need protein growing up and meat is a great place to get it. Vegetarian kids are usually shorter, smaller brained, and weaker. That doesn't mean they are less intelligent, brain size doesn't always relate to thinking capacity, but it is probably not a good thing to have a small brain.
I wasn't really trying to piss some people off, I was just showing some of the gruesome things about meat. I almost went veggie when I watched that. It's gruesome, but it's part of nature, and the pig was raised to be meat. We swedes takes good care of our pigs, I would never buy meat from anywhere else in the world but here.
If I really have to, or must eat meat, I always make sure it's from Sweden because there is enough place here to breed them organically and for the animals to live until their time is right. Whatever most people say about animals being dumb, it's not really true. The only thing that separates us from other animals is that we can think. Animals still have feelings. I am one of the few veggies who are activists but that doesn't mean I'm an elitist prick. I wanted to change the world but I lost all hope in humanity and decided it'd be for the best if the world ended 2012. Now I just want "Vattenfall" (electricity provider) down because they use nuclear power instead of renewable energy as they still insist on it being safe. Anyway, whatever meat-eating elitists says... I still think that you have the right to decide what you want to eat without having half an forum pushing you down. The interwebs, serious business right?
I used to be a vegan from birth (vegan family), but I turned Vegetarian because I didn't agree with some rules. I don't own anything made from animals sometimes I forget just how stupid the arguments people on the other side of the fence come up with are Yeah let's fund the people that gave these animals painful lives gg I feel compelled to punch you in the face
I dare you to punch me, i fucking dare you. Your love for animals is going to get you killed someday, if not your arrogant attitude.
Vegetarianism in adults isn't as terrible as vegetarianism in kids. Kids need protein growing up and meat is a great place to get it. Vegetarian kids are usually shorter, smaller brained, and weaker.
Which makes for some tender, defenseless food for the meaties.
I've been thinking about this recently, and I'm pretty positive I can make these lifestyle changes, regardless I've no doubt it might be difficult since I've been brought up eating meat and some days I really have to try hard to remember this is the way I want to live (sounds silly, right?) but I've been so used to just picking up anything I want, so, FPers, are any of you established veggies or thinking / trying to be vegetarian and is there any advice / tips / comments / stories you can deliver? I also have no doubt PETA can be biased, and I try to look at everything with an open mind, but I wholeheartedly believe that cruelty is happening to animals, it's there, on a wide scale, and I'd rather avoid everything altogether than take the chance that this animal might have been in pain and suffering all it's life (I don't want any 'Oh boohoo' responds to this please). So, now that I'm done explaining, I'd like to finally ask, what about eggs? I love baking, would even the hardcore veggies say that free range, organic are pretty much a go-ahead?
Vegetarianism isn't good for you. It's very simple. We are omnivores. We eat meat AND vegetables. It isn't "or". We can survive for a time on one or the other, but to be healthy you have to eat both. Vegetarians can indeed obtain all the nutrient necessary to remain alive, but generally do so by increasing intake of grains and various other carbs which are detrimental to your system. The body just isn't designed for this. If you feel bad for animals then you can purchase the free range meats. They cost more but the animals generally live better lives than their factory counterparts. Though do your research, if memory serves, "free range" generally has no actual meaning from a legal standpoint yet.
:irony:
How is that ironic?
Well yeah, who knows what shit they put in that stuff at normal places.
I don't eat sausage and premade meatballs anymore. All the things we threw away (goo, feet, wierd looking things, kidneys, lungs) is used for that.
No veggies on facepunch, Just fruits HAH! ZING
How is that ironic?
Swearing at me like a prick, and assuming you're stronger is pretty arrogant.

Your dog doesn't actually love you, it will instantly latch on to the next person who gives them food. Animals care only about themselves, sustaining themselves, and passing on seed. Of course, I'm a man that teeters on both sides of this, so really I can't say for sure. All I know is that my dogs care more about food, than us and that says alot already.
Again, I'm not going into some all of sudden CRAZYVEGEOMGTHEANIMALZ!!1111!!! damned rampage, , I'm not a regular meat eater, and I'm pretty healthy, so I doubt a little less fat-laden cow meat is going to make me toppel over any time soon, in regards to mice testing, I agree, this is wrong to, but choosing vegetarianism is something within my control - easy, affordable - it's choosing what goes into my chops so stop blowing this up further as if I've been implying I'm trying to save every animal on the planet. Eggs are not a living, thinking, feeling creature, so no, it's not the same thing. In regards to your e.coili statement, linkplox? to some legit article.
I wasn't trying to imply that you were a PETA nut, that would just be ignorant of me. E. coli infection risk varies between organic farmers and it depends on how they handle manure. It's a controversial issue but there are approved organic farmers groups around, so just be careful about it. I did read a good source but I can't find it, so these will have to do for now: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14928656/ http://www.emaxhealth.com/75/7431.html http://www.ota.com/organic/foodsafety/ecoli.html
Swearing at me like a prick, and assuming you're stronger is pretty arrogant.
On the internet it's called normal. Thought people would know this by now.
I might have to add that my girlfriend loves animals more than anything. She stood guard in her stable with a baseballbat all night because some guy had been cutting a friends of her's horse. We have 4 rats, 2 bunnys and 2 horses (She wants a cat and a dog aswell, but I'm allergic)
On the internet it's called normal. Thought people would know this by now.
Then don't call me on it, and I won't call you on it?
schnauzers and poodles are allergy friendly.
I just said I like meat. That means I'm manly.
I'm a healthy vegetarian, get over it and quit telling me I'm not.
I'm sure you plan out every meal to make sure you are getting complete proteins daily and will continue to do so until you die. Chances are, you don't even realize how unhealthy you are. Most people are meat or not. The effects are just worse in vegetarians. Meat plays an important part of our diet and provides the easy calories necessary to work and think. Most folks just get used to the lack of energy and blame it on other things. Your diet is MASSIVELY important. The effects only become amplified as you get older. When you are young you can compensate simply because the body is more resilient.

Just like people positively should not smoke? Or drink to excess? Or do drugs? These are 'detrimental' to people's health, yet they do them anyway, you're saying I'll be malnutritioned and unhealthy by eating a diet of fruit, seeds, nuts, grains and vegetables? That this 'imperfect' diet will be the death of me above all the other threats in life? I wonder, are you a perfect human specimen, at the peak of health that avoids such things? I hope so, otherwise you're a damned hypocrite.

Not to say not eating meat will make you wither away and sprout pussies all over your body.
Easy calories? Fuck man I don't need more of those
I'm glad that the nazis pushed animal rights so much. Without it, we probably wouldn't have much of the laws against animal cruelty that we have today.
