Dude are you calling a fictional character who establishes herself as an AI clickbait :v:

or, you know, they thought it'd be fun to attach a character to a youtube channel and have a gimmick. gimmicks aren't clickbait.

and you must be an absolute blast to hang out with :v:
Would be interesting to know what they use for the face animations.
They obviously use a HTC Vive for the whole body, not sure if they use extra controllers for the feet but the body and arms etc. are just controlled by the two hand controllers.
Mouth movement is probably just controlled by the voice.
Interesting combination of stuff though.
For the upper body only cam they use for some games it might just be FaceRig or a similar application.
Or they use the same for the 3D space stuff.
it's most likely a combination of VR for the body
for the face:

For example you can kind of see the VR having trouble tracking her when she's jumping in her "fitness test" video.

This is also where the "retarded dolphin pose" comes from :v:

Facerig studio which was released last december has support for Perception Neuron so it's most likely just that.

probably because asparagus is also phonetically pronounced asparagus in japanese.
I dunno how gullible you'd need to be to really think this was an AI playing games
it's just a hook for the premise of the channel

not gonna lie this was extremely entertaining if not just for listening to her say words in english and misinterpret the meaning of certain words. she drew "building" for "bird" and "flag" for "frog" and i just find that adorable
For cute anime loving trash like me this channel is perfect
I want to see her tackle the Alien Isolation challenge maps.
I dont think this was posted yet.

Quick, draw! is infinitely more entertaining if the player can't speak English apparently.

keep in mind not all translated videos are in this playlist - seemingly only the ones translated by them.
there are other videos such as the inside gameplay that are translated but not in the playlist. which makes it a bit harder to watch her videos imo!
Don't they teach English in Japan? I mean I always had the thought that English was taught worldwide in schools and anyone who doesn't speak/understand English is ignorant to extreme, or maybe above 50 and never was taught it back then.
[editline]26th February 2017[/editline]
Actually is there countries in which English isn't part of basic education? I am curious now.

English in Asian curriculum doesn't really translate well to fluency. Also pretty sure English isn't taught worldwide :v:

To add to that thought, people may learn the bare necessities needed for graduation but never touch it ever again because they think they will never or seldom need it in everyday use. Similar to math, many people will never go beyond high school requirements unless they know they'll need it later.

English lessons are common but for them its really hard. so its not really a favourite lesson. kinda like math, or studying Chinese. A lot of people use Chinese, but it's pain in the ass to study, so most of us don't care either.

I can tell you most people don't give a fuck about learning foreign languages, if the motivation isn't there that is.

It is down here, but it's not considered a must as it apparently is in the nordics.
It's just another subject basically, as patrioticturtle said. Teachers generally suck, and you never come in contact with it in your everyday life unless you visit english-speaking internet communities or play videogames. IIRC foreign TV and cinema is mostly subbed in the nordics? Not so much here. 99% dubbed. Japan doesn't consume western TV, not sure about cinema.
They also have a vast amount of websites and internet communities in their native language and play an entire different sort of videogames made almost exclusively by native devs, so they have even less exposure to it outside of school than kids here do. On top of that, for them English is quite alien and difficult.
At least that's my wisdom passed onto me by the internet, might be wrong. Barely ever been properly abroad.

It also depends on the culture. A lot of Koreans are really fluent in English because it's important to know the language in future careers. A lot of Koreans go into business and English is necessary.

fuck she is too cute
Watched two vids now, I feel like it'd be incredibly easy to obsess over this, if one had such an inclination. It's a really neat idea, creating a youtuber-persona with a human voice actor and a team of animators. This is like Hatsune Miku taken the next logical step forward.

Pretty sure it's mocap, no team of animators needed.
In theory one person could do all this, the hardest part was probably the initial setup. To make a new video one would spend most of the time just cleaning up mocap jitter (made easier by investing in a decent mocap rig, they're not that expensive these days anyways) and adding facial expressions. Then just do the basic audio/video editing as all youtubers do and upload. Not that many extra steps involved, not much room for teamwork either. I could see a second person being the brains behind it all with the girl just being there to act, but there's no reason why she couldn't do everything (although with her English proficiency I'm not so sure).
