I am so excited for Halo 4, I got chills from this.
it still impresses me how they can keep making games for the old hardware of a xbox 360 and still make it look extremely good
Maybe it was just a shake-n-bake cease-fire when the Flood came back around. Something probably happened after Chief was frozen like a microwavable corndog.
"An Ancient Evil Awakens" is what I'm wondering about.
After the flood were gone, and the prophets ousted, the covenant fell apart. The Jackals, Brutes, grunts, and elites all went their separate ways more or less. As far as the Elites go, a lot of them still wanted to finish off the humans, A lot of them wanted to be at peace with them, and the rest were still religious fanatics. Chances are, the "Ancient Evil" is going to be forunner defenses on whatever planet they crashed on, and the elites Chief kills are the religious fanatics that want to recover instead of destroy the forunner defenses and artifacts.
I actually really like the new mjolnir set, I like how unremarkable and neutral it looks. It completely fits with their goal of exploring the human side of a spartan.
i feel like his helmet is too complicated looking
Never have I been so upset that I've sold my 360.
4 will be the first Halo title ever that I've not pre-ordered. That's right, I pre-ordered Halo Wars :v:
it's showing chief is freaking out and is getting desperate
Which is what I love about Halo 4. I figured that was something that could happen, but didn't- even in the books, the Chief seems to mostly have his more extreme tendencies under control. They were there, and noticeable, but he's the Master Chief. An orphaned (as of a few years after his kidnapping) super soldier that was trained from 6 to kill insurrectionists, and then from 14 to kill aliens. He's been constantly fighting a losing war against a relentless and superior force for 27 years, and then, at the end of it, he had to juggle a parasitic superorganism that threatened to devour the entire galaxy, and the superweapons designed to kill them and everything else.
Up until recently (in game perspective), he assumed his friends and family from the Spartan program were all dead. Johnson is dead, Miranda Keyes and her father are dead, most of his fellow Spartans are dead. And even now, after drifting in space, he can't be sure those he found on Reach in First Strike are alive. All he knows is that Earth was completely devastated by the Covenant and the Flood, and most of Africa has been glassed. Halsey, his surrogate mother, could even be dead. Then there's the possibility that he's coming to terms with the fact that he was kidnapped and brainwashed, then put through a series of incredibly risky genetic augmentations to become a 7ft tall killing machine- and that his surrogate mother was the one who advocated for it all.
And the 99th problem happens to be a bitch- Cortana, his one constant companion, is now going literally insane. She may even "die".
It's entirely inconceivable that any human can be put through all of that and come out without scars.

i heard AI in halo go through phases after 7 years though
depression, anger, (something else) and then stability or something
Halo is the only reason I still own a 360, otherwise I'd of traded it for a PS3 or a new video card ages ago.
I already traded it anyway because it's really not hard to find someone with a 360 to play with.
i heard AI in halo go through phases after 7 years though

Yeah, they go rampant. If the AI doesn't totally break down, they become metastable and are effectively real people with god complexes.
Yeah, they go rampant. If the AI doesn't totally break down, they become metastable and are effectively real people with god complexes.
but that would be good right?
i heard AI in halo go through phases after 7 years though

They eventually just go completely nuts and start seeing themselves as gods, some AI's get it worse than others. In the book "The Cole Protocol", a spartan team has to work with a 14 year old AI who saw herself as the goddess of a colonized asteroid belt she took care of. But she wasn't completely nuts, it looks like Cortana will get it a lot worse though.
but that would be good right?
No, AI's are designed to assist humans, help fly ships, and in chiefs case, give him intel and help improve his reaction times. They're not designed to be gods.
The only skepticism I still have about this is the Covenant being the enemy again.
The Covenant attacking you are a hostile splinter group who still believe in the old ways of will attempt to destroy you and humanity by any means necessary.
Wow, Wolfenstein 3D had better texture quality, is that ALL that they can pull out of the Xbox?
What? This game is probably the best looking game on the Xbox 360. Not to mention this is the first Halo on the Xbox to feature High res textures, they are beautiful.
Wow, Wolfenstein 3D had better texture quality, is that ALL that they can pull out of the Xbox?
For being on a 6 year old piece of hardware, it looks pretty damn good.
Totally Wolf 3D quality.

Obvious troll trying to start a shit storm, just ignore him.
You may want to try posting the models of the chief during gameplay instead of cutscenes.
You know, where the Xbox is shitting its self trying to render more than 5 objects at once and everything has to look like ass to compensate.
I would have gone with asking him to post pictures that weren't scaled down :P.
And that's how you know that those images aren't running on an Xbox, they are a bit too large to be downscaled from 960x540 or whatever the Xbox runs at before it crams everything through its hardware up-scaler to fake 1080 or 720p
343 has said that the game runs at native 720p
Also Halo's theatre mode does render screenshots at 1080p.
I think it does it by taking a bunch of pictures then stitching them together.
Now try the texture resolution once its been squished for the archaic microsoft shitbox.
Instead of being an ignorant shitposting douche, perhaps you should do the simple research on Halo 4. Halo 4 is the first game on the "Microsoft Shitbox" that has a native resolution of not only 720p, but 1080i aswell. Halo 4 also features HD textures and FXAA, while that's common in today's gaming standards, that is pretty damn amazing for the Xbox. Halo 4 simply does look that good on the Xbox, do your research, experience it first hand before you start shitting up my thread. I have had the honor of playtesting the Multiplayer components of the game over the past 7 month, there are times I think i'm playing on a next gen console, or a decent gaming PC. Every piece of media 343 Industries released of Halo is 100% in game, from the theater mode of the game.

You have no clue to what you are talking about I see. Finally, a friend for Spartan.

Halo 4 runs at 720p natively
I would have gone with asking him to post pictures that weren't scaled down :P.
Really Spartan? Don't you ever get tired of joining the wrong, ignorant, and annoying side of the debates?

Sorry son, the Halo hate bandwagon left a long time ago.
Because it doesn't have to render the game in realtime, its just spooling pre-recorded events into the renderer.
If you read the rest of my post, that is basically what I said.
I know it doesn't run at 1080p.
I wish they'd release all of the Halo games for PC
Really Spartan? Don't you ever get tired of joining the wrong, ignorant, and annoying side of the debates?
Delta I was simply joking the game looks amazing.
-snip misunderstood-
We're in some dire need of GETOUT.jpg in this thread right now.
Oh so none of it is running in realtime, okay thanks!
What? Halo's theater mode is a realtime recreation of previous gameplay sessions! Even if that was the case the game still does look that good in real time.
