What? Halo's theater mode is a realtime recreation of previous gameplay sessions! Even if that was the case the game still does look that good in real time.
I think he means when you take a screenshot it adds some effects or something. Like in Reach's theatre mode when you took a picture it took away some of the colour if I remember correctly.
Wow, Wolfenstein 3D had better texture quality, is that ALL that they can pull out of the Xbox?
HALO 4 SPOILERS [sp]Master Chief was really mecha-hitler the whole time.[/sp]
So its not running any kind of AI at that point and no kind of physics calculations at all. Its tweening keyframes together and trying as hard as it can to maintain a decent framerate.
Have you seen the SP game play footage from E3? It looks magnificent.
So its not running any kind of AI at that point and no kind of physics calculations at all. Its tweening keyframes together and trying as hard as it can to maintain a decent framerate.
Holy shit it is astonishing how little you know.
Now try the texture resolution once its been squished for the archaic microsoft shitbox.
That was one of the first images of Chief they released MONTHS ago. On an older build.

Even if that's how it worked that doesn't change the fact that Halo 4 looks that good in real time, while playing the game.
Halo 4 also features HD textures
HD? I believe you are looking for high resolution. But High resolution is not 1024x1024 which is the highest resolutions in there.
HD? I believe you are looking for high resolution. But High resolution is not 1024x1024 which is the highest resolutions in there.
Ahh, my apologies. you are correct. I did indeed mean High Res.
Holy fuck that facial animation, finally a game with some decent ones since lately its been a pain to look at these wooden faces in most games
Holy fuck that facial animation, finally a game with some decent ones since lately its been a pain to look at these wooden faces in most games
Every facial animation is 100% mocap!!! :D
Holy fuck that facial animation, finally a game with some decent ones since lately its been a pain to look at these wooden faces in most games
I completely agree. I look forward to the day when LA Noire caliber facial mocap is a standard. Good facial animation is such a great thing to have in a game, really makes it that much more engaging.
I'm still amazed how games can look like this on such outdated hardware. What are they doing to get them looking so good, I know they have a shorter draw distance but...wow. That's ridiculous.
I think I might have to grab an XBox for this.
Didn't Halo: Reach also have mocap Facial animations? I remember seeing a Vidoc were they briefly showed it.
Unless we get a good PC release [editline]3rd September 2012[/editline] automerge gerdermmit
Didn't Halo: Reach also have mocap Facial animations? I remember seeing a Vidoc were they briefly showed it.
Yes, but that this detailed. The Mocap they are using in Halo 4 is much more advance. [editline]3rd September 2012[/editline] Hehe, couldn't resist.
On behalf of the facepunch Generic Sci-Fi FPS community. We will now stop upon you, the Mark of Actually has Standards.
You don't have the authority to do that, you're on the losing side of the battle.
I'm psyched for this game.
So much drama, holy fuck.
I wasn't sure if I was gonna buy this game or rent it, but now I am definitely buying it
Battle? AHAHAAHA oh wow. Pointing out consoles shit hardware is SRS BSNS!
What? Nobody here is arguing that the console hardware is obsolete, it is and has been for years! But then there is ignorant old you who is trying to tell us Halo 4 doesn't like this good. Which clearly it does, are you trying to tell me, the other people who playtested the game, and the thouands of people who have play it at E3, RTX, Gamescom, and PAX are wrong? You must be a sad person if you are trying to debate facts that everyone agrees on, and has for years. Even more sad that you are arguing with people who have experience with the game first hand. If they are making a game running on obselete hardware look this awesome, just imagine what 343 is going to pull off in Halo 5.
G-G-guys...let's stop arguing a-about nothing and j-just talk about video g-games? I like the music, I was afraid that it wouldn't be as good as it was in previous games because they didn't get the same composer, but it sound great. And I like the new look of Chief's armor, it's big and bulky and looks like it could take a tank shell.
Great job buying into a blatantly obvious troll for 40 posts. gg
I still find it weird that between 2-3 and now 3-4 he has no way of changing his armor yet it looks completely different. At least in halo 2 you were being re-fitted, but between 2-3 and 3-4 he has been in a space ship, and especially 3-4 when he has been in cryo-sleep.

The MJOLNIR is partly comprised by nanites, and Cortana is able to upgrade elements of it using systems aboard FUD and the nanite layer on the MKVI.

I was pretty disappointed when reach didn't have it. Had to use my Chicken + Pimp hat from ODST because of it.
The Covenant attacking you are a hostile splinter group who still believe in the old ways of will attempt to destroy you and humanity by any means necessary. [editline]3rd September 2012[/editline] Bonus video.
The one thing I DON'T like about that is that when you score it doesn't start a new round. Now they can just cap it, camp the spawn, grab it again and cap it again. That's not fun, that's annoying. I liked it when a new round started because it put both players on equal sides.

Holy shit, the people in this actually look like people and not some clay faces (The faces of ODST, eugh and also Dr. Halsey in Reach)
