The problem with graphics on console games is not how good they are but how well they run. Halo reach had some absolutely great graphics for the xbox- but it suffered from 30fps with heavy drops in multiplayer matches with large players. For some reason, the engine creates an absolutely horrible ghosting effect when the fps drops to combat it which makes it even worse. Halo 4 looks great though, and I hope they have changed or fixed this.

Check some of the multiplayer videos of Halo 4, looks pretty smooth to me at most times
Holy shit, the people in this actually look like people and not some clay faces (The faces of ODST, eugh and also Dr. Halsey in Reach)
Yeah faces were never really Halo's forte, but now, DAMN it looks good.

In any of the playtests I was in MP fps is averaged at 45 fps, and never drops below 35. Can't say about campaign though. Guess we'll see.
Has anyone else noticed something with all the PAX gameplay? There isn't any lag! No corpse lag, no jump lag, no rocket launcher lag. Then again, that might be because the consoles are all LAN connected or it could be amazing coding

From experience. It's just that good coding, unless you have a terrible connection.

Dunno, my connection is 7 meg and I notice some really bad issues with networking on reach. Probably because it only uses peer to peer connections. I hope halo 4 has dedicated servers.

This is the best thing I've heard about Halo 4. Halo's net code has been, historically, iffy.

It won't.
I really hope that this gets a PC version that is as good as Halo 1 for the PC.
I still play that sometimes.

Halo 4 is not Halo Reach. And no, there are no dedicated servers.
I really like Halo so hopefully this will be a great game. It would be nice if they have a few more awesome trailers like the previous games.
I don't like Cortana's new look though, something just doesn't seem right about her to me. She seems completely different from the previous version.

Basically the same, only difference is the facial Mo-cap is much more advanced.
Does 343i have any PC experience? I'd love to see a PC version, but I doubt it'll happen soon, if at all.

If they ever actually did port it to the PC, it would be outsourced. I don't see them doing an inhouse version.
There's a smiley face on his ass at 1:22.

Her hair is different. Her hair changes every game anyway so it doesnt matter. Halo 2 was my favorite, though she looked too much like Miranda Keyes, but there can also be a canon reason for that.

It seems they are trying to make her seem more realistic than a hologram by adding much more detail to her. The thing I'm not sure about is if they changed the face or not. Her old face seems more rugged than her new smoother face. Perhaps higher polys?
Regardless, she and the rest of the game look god damned amazing! 343i are doing a really great job and I LOVE how they are taking the story to a more personal and emotional level. Before we were playing war hero, now it seems we ARE the hero, but trying to solve our own problems along the way.
I like this because in Halo 3 was the first time you really got to see any kind of emotion or felt a sense of danger from something other than the covenant. Cortana was stuck on a Halo and Chief felt guilty for leaving her behind. And then it seems his guilt distracts him several times throughout the campaign. I only say guilt because even now I'm not sure if it was actually her contacting him somehow. But every time she popped up, saying these questionable and creepy lines I just kept thinking, okay where is she? How am I going to save her?
Now it seems to be a similar take with much more going on. Her program is deteriorating and its affecting her in every way. It's great! I look forward to see if we can save her or she dies.

You missed my point, the baseline structure of Cortana is visually the same. As for her appearance , Cortana has the ability to change her appearance at will, and she has had alot of time on her own in FUD.
Honestly, she DOES looks different, can't put my finger on what exactly, but I actually like this version the best out of the previous games.

Halo 1 had the best Cortana.

They seemed to of changed the darker purple lines in her design, as well as her hair style (facial structure also counts I guess, but that's the most obvious change).
Well, I'm going down to EBExpo so I'll play it before it comes out and tell you guys how it feels in terms of gameplay.

I think most of it is her hairstyle, along with the curve of her eyebrows. The facial structure has changed a bit, but not much. Another big part is the color of her body and her hair, as well as what she looks like when hit by light. These aspects give her a slightly different personality, more like a person than the mysterious, semi-omniscient guide and guardian she once seemed to be.
