I've recently really gotten into audiophilia and perfecting my mobile sound quality

I very picky when it comes to sound quality but man, buying high-end headphones, an amplifier, getting FLAC versions of all your tunes (or is vinyl still the best way to go?), it's just not worth it. 256kbps MP3s and up and a pair of $150 headphones is more than enough for me.
I read the title as "I've recently really gotten into autophilia..."
I had to read the title again when I saw a picture of earbuds.
exactly
ear buds are fucking terrible so to buy better ones and expect sound quality that can compare to even a 4" speaker is laughable
it's a gimmick to buy "high-end" ear buds period
I've always thought this. IMHO it's physically difficult/impossible to get quality bass/lows from tiny drivers (i.e. earbuds). That's why 18 inch subwoofers exist, instead of one inch woofers. (that's such an oxymoron)
Kind of off topic, but how are the Sony MDR-V6's? I've been wanting to buy them for awhile now. Apparently "every studio" has a pair for mastering stuff.

Actually IEMs are inherently more capable of producing deep/powerful bass than other sizes of headphone, though obviously it depends on the particular product
My dumb glasses keep getting in the way of the cushions on every goddamned headphones. That's why I only use earbuds.

Studios do not use headphones to mix and master, because it is harder to get an accurate representation of the frequencies, sound-stage, and room tone. As a result speakers are the preffered choice for all professional studios. Don't really have a whole lot of info on those particular headphones though. Also ear-buds are very capable of low frequencies an 8 inch sub is just as capable of hitting low frequencies as an 18 inch subwoofer. It all depends on the enclosure the subwoofer is in, whether it's ported or closed, the amp driving it, and the size of the room. With ear buds, there is tiny driver sealed within the space of your ears, with is very small.

Well made and decently priced.
I still don't get the idea of having an amp, aren't those only used to make the signal strong enough for those big ass headphone to work on a mobile device?
