There's also Guilty Gear on that note. I mean, it's anime as fuck but I just got into it a bit lately and the number of references to American/Western rock stuff is absolutely stunning, like every single character has at least one reference, and the main character is basically a walking homage to Queen and Freddy Mercury, to the point where his headband actually has 'Rock You' scratched into it.
