I believe that Jesus was real, He just had nothing to do with a 'God' and people blew his story up.
There is actually no proof at all of Jesus' existence.

Several million Christians would rate you disagree.
But they'd be wrong.
They did this alot to slowly ease people into a new religion on people. Take familiar bits so changing religion Wasn't such a big thing. So basically it's all unoriginal apart from, perhaps, the first few religions
more like

Jesus did exist, he was executed by the Romans on the Cross.
The rest is just a good book.

Nobody cares. Most people on FP are atheists anyway. You don't need to point shit out, especially when it's old as shit.

'Ease people into a new religion'?
When you convert to Christianity, they hold you down underwater for reasons I can only describe as sadism.

There is no proof of Jesus ever being born, living, performing miracles, being executed by Romans, being resurrected, nothing. There's no definitive proof of any of it.

In Christianity, baptism (from Greek baptizo: "immersing", "performing ablutions") is the ritual act, with the use of water, by which one is admitted to membership of the Christian Church and, in the view of some, as a member of the particular Church in which the baptism is administered.
~Wikipedia.
It's a religion, all religions have their own rituals. Just be glad it's not a human sacrifice.

I only wanted to give all our fellow atheists out there a bit more ammunition for the war.

I do understand what takes place during a baptism.
They found some Roman documents mentioning a trouble maker named Jesus.

It's not a War if you ignore the missionaries.

I bet they've found Roman documents mentioning a lot of trouble makers, maybe Julius, Brutus, Jose, Muhammad, and many more names. Jesus is just a name, so unless those documents said "Shit guys, there's this carpenter named Jesus and he was walkin' on water and savin' the peasants so we crucified his ass," then it still doesn't really prove much.

Well, it doesn't take much for these people to buy this bullshit, so that would be enough for them I think.

HAHA.
"Tuesday 2nd 91AD.
That little scallywag Jesus the Carpenter was hanging outside the barracks again today, him and his 12 monkeys. They follow him about like a bad smell. He's starting to piss me off something rotten.
Wednesday 3rd 91AD.
He's back again! If he's here tomorrow I'm going to confront him and his gang, afterall, I am a legionaire of the Roman Army! what can he do?
Thursday 4th 91AD.
Well, went outside to have a word and he's turned my wife into a pot of daisies and swapped my penis for a vagina..."
whats with all the religion shit on facepunch
What's with all these types of posts in every religious thread?
I'm an atheist and I'll gladly say "Who gives a fuck?" similarities have no bearning on whether or not either of them where real, these could be coincidences or simply the writers of the Bible embelishing the story of Christ with detials of Egyptian mysticism in order to appeal to them. I'd also consider that the existence of Jesus has no bearing on the validity of the Bible.
Oh and, Religulous was a steaming pile of shit and in insult to pretty much everyone, especially those who paid to watch it.
