Even if it was kept back then, it would have been removed a month or two ago during the reorganizing of the forum.

I think it has been tried in the past, but it never really worked out. Too much drama, trolls, and sometimes questionable content for its own good. Like seriously we are pretty lucky the dragon thread is even still allowed to exist.

Problem threads are generally shut down if they are creating a bigger nuisance than being productive. If too many people are stirring shit, they just close the thread. It may not be the [i]right[/i] way to fix the issue, it does solve it very quickly. "Furry megathread" in GD is just a giant magnet for trolls and for whatever reason, furries love drama. So those threads hit that "shit threshold" pretty quickly.
Fortunately DMT tends to keep to itself and no one really bothers us much so for the most part, we tend to have a pretty good standing with the mods.

Removing the furry thread was probably easier than banning the majority of the posters, it wouldn't have been just a few "trolls" rather the whole group, it sounds rude but the majority of furries do have a tendency to lack certain social qualities
and that causes alot of problems.

a furry thread would be an awful idea. Most of the furries around here like the fact that we fly under the radar with this thread. It's not blatantly a furry/scalie thread and we long since learned to not shit where we eat and keep the weird stuff to steam groups or amongst friends.
Most of us aren't the type that exactly want to parade it around, and one merely can not make a furry thread here and expect it to be taken seriously. Most of the posts would be shitposts, both from people actually trying to be part of the thread and trolls. Back when this place was mostly porn nearly every post was a shitpost.
