I originally drew this Toothless a year ago, and it looked pretty good for a 5 min sketch. Even without reference, he looked pretty natural. But everything I've drawn lately as been a bit 'off' in one way or another.
With this tutorial, and practice, you could draw Toothless correctly from memory alone. The little details make a big difference.

just keep drawing and eventually you'll become really good. all you need to do is to critically look at your stuff and find ways to improve it
i've been learning to draw recently (actually like a year ago, i haven't done anything since) and believe me when i say that even a little practice makes a huge difference
like i went from zero drawing skills to stuff like [url=http://files.1337upload.net/toothless-5a4c43.png]this[/url] in a few months or so
it's still poop and i'm embarrassed, but i'm too embarrassed to even show what my first stuff looked like. to give you an idea of how bad i was at drawing, that is like mona lisa compared to my first doodles
My focus on drawing has died until I saw my friends professional tablet in person.
Its hard to look at your tiny tablet after being able to use one of the more expensive wacoms.
i always wanted one of those fucking cool wacoms but then i looked up the price and i was like yeah nope
now i'm not sure what to get
maybe i'll just get an ipad and draw on that

Wacom isn't that expensive for what they are, except you mean those with a screen build in.
yeah ideally i'd get one with a screen, but they are so expensive
maybe i'll just get a cheap one without a screen at first
since with screens the cheapest option seems to be an ipad with a stylus at 500€
next up is a wacom thingy or a surface pro at 800€
the best wacom is super overkill and its 2000€
