Oh, I forgot to mention that in one of my D&D 3.5 games I played a female (Bronze-Dragonwrought) Kobold Sorcerer that would altar self into a wyrmling shadow dragon, and rain down death from above because wyrmling shadow dragons have crazy fly speeds.

Think this, only the size of a cat, and waaaay cuter! She even got hit with a friggin' harpoon once, too much weight caused her to crash and almost killed her.
I'm pretty sad that game ended, but I plan on playing that character later if I can, she was gonna be a Dragon Prophet and be crazy powerful/awesome.
Gonna preach about dragons and the Draconic Prophecy to all the non-scalies. :3

I'm currently playing a pathfinder game as a Bronze Dragon. I found some rules that didn't seem too OP as long as I didn't try to min-max or rule lawyer everything, and our DM said it was all good.

Same thing, size of a cat, weigh 8 pounds. Somehow stronger than the 5'8" Sorcerer. I end up doing half the talking for the group, so I just imagine this little dragon sitting on top of a chair squeaking words at everyone.

It probably helps that I am the one who taught him how to play DnD, and I've known him my entire life (I recently found one of those books that kids get to help them learn to write their alphabet correctly. I wrote his name and drew a bad crayon drawing in kindergarten, before I even managed to write my own last name right. bros 4 lyf).
D&D bronze dragons are my definitely favorite too, from the lore I read they seem the most social and likely to become adventurers/more human like in personality.
Pathfinder's take on them is basically the exact opposite, so I ignore their version (don't like interacting with people, least social, stay in their cave reading/writing books and generally being boring for 2 or 3 thousand years).
Oh jeeze yea, I also hate how they changed in 4th edition too.
3.5 true dragons are the friggin' best.
