[t]http://i.imgur.com/sZzpOqk.png[/t] Dragons all over the place
I just came to this epiphany a few moments ago, dragons are basically a summary of man's ambitions. Power (the dragon's size and strength), wealth (hoarding gold), freedom (flying), sex (a long, thick tail represents this in psychology), intelligence (as most dragons are characterized as being extremely intelligent), and fire (most important invention to early mankind). Every fundamental part of Dragons represents something significant along those lines in human psychology.
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/eH5IUxr.png[/thumb]
we really need some more fluffy dragons around here.
What part of a dragon signifies awesome? Or is that just the whole package together.
You just carelessly used the word 'package'. Everything in here leads to that anyways, sooner or later.
A long, thick tail in psychology represents sex.
Is this a common symbol? If it's not, then I want to quote you on it. :v: Also, aren't dragons in themselves a symbol of greed, egoism and avarice? Just this huge, unbeatable beast that fucks everything up, cares only for itself and breathes fire on everything that opposes it. Edit: Now that I think about it, some of your symbols actually don't represents mankind in my opinion: Power - No man can win the struggle against the force of nature and I'd actually consider something like a bear to be a lot more powerful than a single man. Wealth - The economic system was invented by man, yes, but that does not make every man wealthy. Some men are poor, some are rich. It really depends on some men, not mankind itself. The hoarding of gold is actually more related to greed in common folklore. Freedom - I see you are American. :v: Exactly how is man more "free" than any other animal? A bird is more common as a symbol of freedom; A bird can fly and is thus more free than man, who are forced to live on the ground. The dragons' ability to fly is actually not related to mankind at all! Sex - Any animal has sex, it's their way of reproducing, some just have better or more sex than others. Sure, man is one of the few species which have sex for enjoyment, but then again, does a dragon do? Is a dragon even used as a symbol for sex? I already questioned your use of symbolism earlier. According to the ancient epic poem Beowulf, dragons don't even have sex, they are born from Angelina Jolie, according to the movie made of it. Intelligence - This is correct, both man and dolphins have proven to be more intelligent than any other species. Fire (invention) - This may be correct, but it's a strange metaphor for inventions you have there. Fire usually symbolizes passion, enthusiasm or rage, not invention. A campfire or a forge may, but not fire in and of itself. I don't want to ruin your view on those anime dragons of yours, though. I just found your symbolism to be a bit unorthodox.

Power, wealth, freedom, knowledge and sex are things that many men seek and aspire to have. Come on man, my post wasn't that long, it couldn't have hurt to reread it before typing all that up.
