You ever feel metal chain mail with the really, really small chains? It feels really soft and smooth, almost like silk. That's what I imagine dragon scales to feel like (for "soft" dragons, anyways). I'd imagine they'd be thin enough so they'd still be warmed by the dragon's body heat, and they'd have an effect where they harden on impact (like some new types of body armor), making them resistant to sharp or blunt force. That way a dragon can have sensitivity to touch even in places they're still armored.
Speaking of chainmail, I am working on a scalemail vest. Scales are tangentially related to dragons, right?
I made one a long while ago with larger scales, and now I am making another with smaller black ones.

I'm with you there, honestly. It's a blurry line for most it seems where the whole thing ends and begins.
Some take it too far and create this character and they consider themselves that character, it's not a character to them, it's actually them. That's when it's just fubar.
See my avatar? That's my character. That's my [I]character[/I]. I don't treat him as me, i don't pretend i'm him, i don't even share anything in common with him necessarily. To me, he's a character of my creation and that's it. No more real than Arthur Dent in the book Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and i have no desire to assume the role of him or let him represent who i actually am.
But yeah, dragons.
I like fuzzy dragons a fuckload, but scales are still where it's at. Maybe a good hybrid between them, like a sort of eastern meets west.
Western dragons have a lot of aspects i like over eastern, but the same goes for eastern. Each have drawbacks for me and i can't really decide if i prefer one over the other.
I honestly don't see why some folks get their butts worked up about it if dudes like to pretend they're dragons/wyverns/whatever if it doesn't hurt anyone. It's not really your business!
I'd love to be a dragon it'd be rad as shit, so that's why I pretend with like-minded folks and have fun.
I wouldn't want to be a dragon, just imagine that
you'd have like the military shooting at you and stuff because dragons aren't supposed to be real

I think it's because the only thing effective against Dragon types was other Dragon types.
