I don't know how to keep the character inside the frame without having to edit every single frame.
If anybody knows how to do this, can you teach me?

I usually just throw the frames into Vegas and use that instead, but I have to convert it to a video in virtualdub or something because Vegas likes to crash if you attempt to use .gifs in it

The game runs at 30fps and I recorded at 30fps. The full animation cylce is almost 100 frames long. I removed every other frame, reduced the colour palette to 28 colours and made it 14% lossy (is that the correct term?) to get it below the size limit of 200kB.
I played around a lot with the colour palette, lossiness, etc. to figure out at which point a certain setting provides maximal size reduction at minimal quality loss. But halving the amount of frames was unavoidable.
