RWBY is a labor of love, I love it, I love its characters, I love its world, and no amount of libel or slander is going to change that. I'll never submit to ideological purity. I'm my own person. And I will continue to spread love for this series. Even now, I'm paying artists to help me recreate one-to-one models of the characters so the fans can do their own animation fan projects like I want to. And when my animation is finished, I hope to find my work impresses them enough to be hired, leave my current job and become a part of the thing my wife and I adore. Sure, it's a crossover, but it'll knock anyone's socks off, because my software can go even farther than RWBY'S effects work has achieved. Dreams are to be sought after...
I don't see how you can love the world of Rwby when there is no world. I've seen every episode and there was no world building whatsoever [editline]9th October 2017[/editline]
I don't care. See enough works of anything and you know originality no longer truly exists. If you're just looking to see if something similar was done somewhere else, you'll find it without question. Also, don't talk about my wedding, that's crossing a line, pal...
See enough works and you can tell what is stealing and what is inspiration Wait I'm pretty sure you're trolling
So are you gonna ignore the fact that RWBY volume 4 was terribly boring? Especially after the above par finale of volume 3?
So are you gonna ignore the fact that RWBY volume 4 was terribly boring? Especially after the above par finale of volume 3?
I actually found season 4 the most bearable only because they stopped using poser
Wait I'm pretty sure you're trolling
Judging by his post history and uh, particular way of phrasing things, he probably isn't.

this guy is fucking awesome, i love this thread already
Honestly man that's just sad. There's so much better series to get this passionate about and I honestly feel sorry for you
Honestly man that's just sad. There's so much better series to get this passionate about and I honestly feel sorry for you
I mean to be fair everyone has their own tastes, so if he really like this show then that's on him.
When I see RWBY I just think of the Kaiser Chiefs song.
Honestly man that's just sad. There's so much better series to get this passionate about and I honestly feel sorry for you
listen man anime is my life you gotta stop making fun of it cause by extension your making fun of me I'd die without my anime
Everyone's talking about how bad RWBY is but I'm genuinely excited about Yugioh [sp]RWBY is trash though[/sp]
Everyone's talking about how bad RWBY is but I'm genuinely excited about Yugioh
I'm looking forward to it too, I loved yu-gi-oh as a kid and I remember S1 being insanely silly and doing things that you couldn't actually do, or ever happened again in the show after s1.
I mean to be fair everyone has their own tastes, so if he really like this show then that's on him.
Liking something and thinking it's good are two different things. I'll happily admit that a lot of things I like are garbage.
Liking something and thinking it's good are two different things. I'll happily admit that a lot of things I like are garbage.
I've admitted to "above average". I will never call the flawed things I love worthless, for they are a part of me. I know their failings, and I accept their charm. Dragonball and RWBY... they will always be my benchmark for awesome... And one day soon, they will be awesome together... Power Within... Transposition F... Soon you shall rise...
I dunno if it's just the limitations of the software they were working with, the inexperience of the animators or the fucking nasty art style. But it just looks wrong. If that sequence is literally one example of the animation being good then by the nine we should be purging that filth. Everything appears to have this weird stiffness to it with small moments of fluidity. But there's no real weight to the animation, it just looks like a bunch of flailing with no real impact. Actual feeling in the animation is instead covered up with flashes and weird slo-mo.
I feel like that's mostly an issue with the tool they're using (MMD? Poser?). It's harder to pull off traditional animation effects like squash and stretch with their static models, which tends to lead to floaty and stiff animation. I think Monty's fights are pretty solid, they were just held back due to software constraints. Also probably why it's covered up by flashes and such.
Liking something and thinking it's good are two different things. I'll happily admit that a lot of things I like are garbage.
They are two different things but again, to be fair they often go hand in hand.
Power Within... Transposition F... Soon you shall rise...
please never change
So tomorrow is Volume 2. People who actually watched this before: is it decent to watch?
I've admitted to "above average". I will never call the flawed things I love worthless, for they are a part of me. I know their failings, and I accept their charm.
So tomorrow is Volume 2. People who actually watched this before: is it decent to watch?
Yes, animation and color palette improve by leaps and bounds. Instantly noticeable. Only problem is the season finale concludes on a big, dumb, tension-free battle that shows everyone off, overhypes a team we barely knew, and ends with an almost audible thud. Everything else is aces, and V3 is ao DRIPPING with tension and dread it makes the other seasons better just for existing... and it delivers on everything, to force the story and characters put into the world to face the unknown, and foes that so handily broke them...
So tomorrow is Volume 2. People who actually watched this before: is it decent to watch?
Expect literally nothing and you might be mildly pleasantly surprised. Expect something super good and RWBY will vomit putrid shit all over you. If you don't hate watching subbed anime try and watch the Japanese dub. The voices are done by professionals in that one.
So tomorrow is Volume 2. People who actually watched this before: is it decent to watch?
They finally made background character models in season 2 and that's the only improvement
What hell happened in this thread? It's like Ironman17 and MIPS had a weeb baby.
They finally made background character models in season 2 and that's the only improvement
I was actually a little disappointed because I thought all the pitch-black background characters was a nice little aesthetic.
wtf happened in this thread? What does RWBY even stand for? why does it look like someone capturing ingame footage? WHY?
wtf happened in this thread? What does RWBY even stand for? why does it look like someone capturing ingame footage? WHY?
RWBY stands for "Red, White, Black, Yellow" if I'm not mistaken. Which, if you'll look at the characters, really just is a very obvious reference to the colour of their clothing. Very original.
