I wanna burn this chicks house down and still see if she is happy about having to pay lots of money for health insurance
Also jesus fucking right-winged politics. Here in europe the liberal right-wing is the USA:s communist party.
You realize that most of the people on THIS forum are just uninformed teenagers who blindly follow what they read on here or see on CNN. :irony: If you don't believe me, read through this thread. http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=912296 I keep seeing people hoo-rahing over it and then later saying they don't even know what it does.
Your friend is a dick. You should tell her about humanism, it's really cool.
Here's my view on the political situation (prepare reading glasses etc)
Well since Congress has passed this new health care legislation it has sparked a lot of debate. Do I think that the bill we currently have is a good thing? No, because under this new legislation (as far as my knowledge goes) we will be required to buy health care from a private insurer, similar to auto-insurance. I believe that in order to fix health care we first have to fix civil suit laws. By that I mean, if anything goes minutely wrong in a hospital, the person getting treatment can sue for gratuitous amounts of money for no good reason. This means that doctors have to pay ungodly amounts for their insurance. I believe that socialized health care would overall be a good thing. However, if civil suit laws were fixed it would be very possible that we wouldn't even need socialized health care. Because if those were fixed, the cost of health insurance would go down by a lot, so it would become more affordable to less-fortunate people. And to the people currently saying that the USA is turning into a socialist nation, why have you not complained about government controlled public schools? I'd say that letting the government educate their own people is far more dangerous than letting the government take care of your health care for you. Never forget that history is written by the victors, and what we are told in public schools about our own nation is never going to be 100% true. Why have you not complained about nanny laws as ferociously as this? Nanny laws are the scourge of all countries, but when seatbelt laws and smoking restrictions were passed I heard minimal complaining. Why is no one complaining about the shitty auto-insurance system that we have? Back on the subject of health care. I believe that we should have an opt-in government health care system, but everyone pays for it. Much like private vs. public schooling. Even if you attend private school, you pay for public schools. This is over all a good thing, and has worked out for us. Is there anything that makes one person more entitled to health care than the next? No. (Don't say money.)
Sorry for the lack of formatting, FP likes destroying it.
Thats okay, it's not your fault. Is your health care opinion similar to the UK's healthcare system?
Thats okay, it's not your fault. Is your health care opinion similar to the UK's healthcare system?
I'm not sure what the UK's system is like, really.
Why do people keep calling health care a basic human right? It's never been a right, it's been a service that you usually pay to receive, and it's been that way almost since its inception. I'm not arguing against the poor getting health care, and I don't agree with this Emily chick either, I'm just tired of people calling it a right.
Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights:
Article 25. * (1) Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control. * (2) Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. Things like this are why I'm embarrassed of my country...

She need to be beat over the head with Canada or something.
She need to be beat over the head with Canada or something.
Well, that depends. Does she live in the south? Actually, hat would explain everything. No that's not a misspelling. Get it? HAT would explain everything? :downsrim:
Stupid bitch needs to fuck off.
I just can't come up with rebuttals to these things anymore, it's wearing me down. Also, the 'God Bless America' thing at the end made me cringe for some reason.
When I was younger I was fairly conservative. After I turned 18 I began to drift and by now (20), I think my youngerself would have said I've gone off the deep end. My point is I have some leftover friends like the one you posted, ranting on facebook and their blogs about these things. Scary part is, she's probably not alone.
I HATE OUR PRESIDENT. I HATE OBAMA. I HATE OBAMA. I HATE OBAMA. IMPEACH HIM.
I am embarrassed to be an American, now.
I live in Norway, one of the countries many Americans consider socialist, and I can't really find anything bad about it. Sure, it may be expensive but god damn I love free health care.
I am not saying that Obama has it out for Jews. But I am saying he has it out for America.
Obama wants to kill America.
I find her bitching over swearwords fun, as you can see if you read the comments. Then I got trolls remorse.
Read two sentences and I already feel like I'm watching Glenn Beck.
Barak Oboma wants to destroy america and kill all the white people
Barak Oboma wants to destroy america and kill all the white people
Well considering the general intelligence of the crowd from 'Kill the bill', that'd be a good thing.

I like how all the conservatives point to Soviet Russia whean healthcare is mentioned, instead of Canada, or Sweden, or Norway, or Denmark, or the rest of the civilized world. Or maybe they actually should look at Russia, where healthcare has actually become worse in many aspects since reforms after the fall of the Soviet Union. http://www.olis.oecd.org/olis/2006doc.nsf/LinkTo/NT000076DA/$FILE/JT03220416.PDF (long boring PDF about the failure of Russian health-care reform.)
I would totally fucking vote for Satan why is he never on the ballots Well there was the leader of the Rhino party in canada that changed his name to Sa Tan but that was before I could vote
