So what are the advantages of Foobar2k over windows media?
super modular, super customizable, great plugins, supports almost all audio formats, great tagging features, pretty sweat
super modular, super customizable, great plugins, supports almost all audio formats, great tagging features, pretty sweat
also not shit I use foobar2000 myself.
KMPlayer on PC but then again I don't use that as often as I used to. Usually I listen to music off my phone using PowerAMP.
There are so many stupid quirks that put me off of using PowerAMP but I don't know of a better Android media player.
There are so many stupid quirks that put me off of using PowerAMP but I don't know of a better Android media player.
Doubletwist looks pretty nice and can stream to PC/xbox/playstation 3 if you buy the full version. If you want an equalizer you need to download a universal equalizer but meh.
Google Play Music?
Then I need to upload all of it onto Google Play. The problem I have with this is that I reformat once, maybe twice a year and Google Play doesn't remember what you've already uploaded. Instead, it just takes everything and uploads it all again and it's a huge pain in the ass.

You can copy it onto the internal storage or sd card and play the music just like PowerAMP.

I used to use iTunes but it always kept crashing and it took way too long to load so i switched to musicbee. i only use itunes to itune the music into my ipod before i switched to music bee and after i said fuck you to itunes i tried winamp and foobar and i deleted them after five minutes because they were too scary
Does this not do it?
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS thx [editline]25th January 2014[/editline] why didn't I see this before :(
Why make your Foobar look good? Be like me, bastardize it :v:
Doubletwist looks pretty nice and can stream to PC/xbox/playstation 3 if you buy the full version. The only weird thing about Doubletwist is that if a band's name isn't capitalized at the start it sorts it at the very bottom of the Artists list, but whatever.
That's... that's the worst foobar configuration I've ever seen It's impressive
Someone posted way worse in the last thread. Don't remember who though. That's not even that bad, just excessive playlist tabs. [editline]25th January 2014[/editline] Found it! [t]http://i.imgur.com/pHtI5Ig.jpg[/t] Plugins. Plugins everywhere.
They're both pretty bad [editline]25th January 2014[/editline] But yes that is quite shit god damn
It actually works for me. I search for music by its information and it's easier on the eyes than anything white. Maybe I should change the font to Comic Sans for easy reading while I'm at it.
VLC because it's simple and works foobar is way too customisable for me, and I can't be bothered to try and make it look the way I want
Foobar on Windows, mpd+ncmpcpp on Linux.
VLC because it's simple and works foobar is way too customisable for me, and I can't be bothered to try and make it look the way I want
It doesn't force you to customise it..
[t]http://puu.sh/6yKdz.jpg[/t] das foobar
I've got a raspberry pi hooked up to some speakers and running MPD, playing music even when my desktop is turned off :v: (ncmpcpp and keybinding on my desktop and a self-made app for android to control it)
How's the Pi's sound quality?
worst peace of arse sound quality on earth from the jack, you could run the audio out the HDMI but that's way too much hassle. The PI is only for travel or convenience if you want to share video quickly. Deffo not for audio use unless you care that little about the quality. [editline]26th January 2014[/editline] there is a way to get a usb soundcard to convert the audio, which would actually make it a neat little appliance. I don't know if it's straight forward though
How's the Pi's sound quality?
I'm not sure. Intense bass sounds terrible, but I feel like it's the speakers, since they're not the best. Also, it stutters occasionally. Looks like it can barely handle mpd. (Could be something else tho)
if the pi had a better DAC, say an okayish one like in the ipod, then it'd be a real worthwhile all round media centre. Works very well from the HDMI, so as a portable cinema it trumps many others.
It doesn't force you to customise it..
but default foobar's layout so ugh, I'll try it again one day
but default foobar's layout so ugh, I'll try it again one day
http://fanco86.deviantart.com/art/Mnlt2-183867648 Literally drag and drop files into folder, load layout. Teaches you how to make extra panels if you need it, takes fifteen seconds to do so. Also a decent skin that is easy to set up: http://slowboyfast.deviantart.com/art/Amethyst-MP-418080525
iPod Classic 6G running rockbox
