india was a colony of britain way back and they wanted peace and east india company which came to india for trading purposes exploited the weak government in various states of india and started to over take each of them
after some smallscale struggles britian completely took over india, but india did get modern education and shit like that
gandhi didn't like britains rule so when he came back from AFRIIIICAAA they peacefully protested in huge amounts, like when they tried to get into the salt factory by just walking up to it and then just getting beat down by the soldiers guarding the entrance
if it wasn't for gandhi india would have had more of a problem becoming their own country
