I also heard that if you drink water it helps speed up your metabolism.
Yeah, higher concentration of H+ ions to aid breaking down food and the acid is diluted slightly. Fun fact: The acid of your stomach doesn't digest anything its actually the water, the acid is merely a catalyst.
Weight has been a fad since 70s-80s?
I've recently started lifting weights etc. for 1 hour every other day (been doing this for around 1 month) and I can already see the change, even though I haven't lost any weight. Looks better than just losing weight, and you also lose fat.
This plan will also maintain a higher acidity in your mouth and thus reduce the quality of your dental hygiene.
This plan will also maintain a higher acidity and thus reduce the quality of your dental hygiene.
...he's not reccomending bulemia
So, how do you gain "good" weight?
The entire op is vague. Stop messing with your metabolism and just work with it by counting your calories. Calories in = calories out, you keep your current weight, and you don't gain muscle if working out. calories in > calories out, you gain weight, muscle if working out calories in < calories out, you lose weight. Doing small work outs each day can speed up your metabolism.
Many people believe, and thus blame their fatness on, that you cannot change your body's metabolism (the rate at which your body breaks down shit). This is wrong. Many people with a slow metabolism eat 3 basic meals a day, usually with about 1 or 2 snacks (at night, usually). This makes their body adjust to the basic meals, and because there is a big amount of time in between those meals, your body compensates for that by breaking down stuff slower. The logical (and correct) way to lower your metabolism is to, instead of eating 3 basic meals a day, just eat many small meals a day. There is less space in between meals, so your body will break down shit faster, thus speeding up your metabolism. Notice I said, "Not GET fat," meaning that, if you aren't fat right now, this will help to prevent you from becoming fat. Exercise and healthy eating helps, too.
do u have a source, or you're just pulling stuff out of your ass ?? anyway, i do eat a lot and make snacks at night and stuff i only weigh 116 pounds, maybe what you said has some truth in it
So, how do you gain "good" weight?
Calorie surplus and strength training. No way to gain muscle mass without fat, and if you do then congratulation you will be a genetic freak of nature who will be approached for scientific research.
Calorie surplus and strength training. I need to gain some pounds, but I'm too lazy to do it. Being underweight certainly is easier then being overweight, at least in my case.
I need to gain some pounds, but I'm too lazy to do it. Being underweight certainly is easier then being overweight, at least in my case.
Pretty much this. I'm skinny as fuck and I need more meat on dem bones.
Pretty much this. I'm skinny as fuck and I need more meat on dem bones.
If weights are giving you a problem when starting working out (which it does with like at least 50% of people trying to get in shape) I recommend starting with resistance springs. Kind of like: They also have different models designed for working out different areas of the body, which I strongly recommend for muscle building/body toning.
Toning is bullshit, it's an outright lie. Also don't do isolation exercises, makes muscle for show.
being fat will make you unhappy.
I can attest to this. I'm not even fat, just overweight. It makes my self confidence plummet in social situations, and I always think something is wrong. But I am exercising and trying to reverse mistakes and i feel a bit better already!
I think its okay to be fat as long as you are happy.
People who rate agree on this post are fat and are trying to comfort their feelings.
I eat 5 substantial meals a day, and I'm borderline underweight. Your idea no worky.
you have to do things beside eat on a certain schedule. This idea is just supposed to help with your metabolism.
Toning is bullshit, it's an outright lie. Also don't do isolation exercises, makes muscle for show.
Toning is bullshit? Pissed off fatty detected.
I do this and I still gain weight I still watch what I eat and work out.
I do this and I still get fat. I still watch what I eat and work out.
You're clearly not doing it right/hard enough. There is no such thing as exercise-proof body fat, despite what denial may pound into you.
Source or this is just another fabricated excuse for fat people to avoid exercise. Eating on irregular hours (especially grabbing "snacks" at night) is a fool-proof way of putting yourself at risk for gaining weight.
you have to do things beside eat on a certain schedule. This idea is just supposed to help with your metabolism.
I don't have an eating schedule, I eat when I'm hungry, and I'm always hungry.
I always drink hot water in the morning, can eat what I like and not get fat, however I don't eat JUNK food like McDs and KFC. Although biscuits and tea are on the menu :downs:
Not eating junk food is probably the cause of it, McD's is like injecting butter into your arteries.

It doesn't matter whether you eat 10 small meals, or 2 fucking big meals a day. Metabolic changeover is not only negligible at best, but is unpredictable. The only way surefire, 100% way to increase your metabolism is to increase activity levels and/or exercise, and have more protein in your diet. [editline]09:52PM[/editline]
Toning is bullshit? Pissed off fatty detected.
Dumbass detected. Toning is a mythical term that was coined up to keep fat housewives spending long hours (and therefore, more money) in the gym trying to "tone" but never actually getting anywhere. I repeat, there is no such as "toning". To get more defined, you achieve this through fat loss. NOT spending hours in the gym with ridiculously light weights doing fuck all.
Toning is bullshit? Pissed off fatty detected.
Underweight guy who eats 5 massive meals a day here, you've been trolled by a troll. Toning is bullshit, the very fucking biology of the human body says so, and if you actually believe you can selectively reduve fat from certain areas of the body while not touching others then you deserve to be smacked around with free weights.
Awesome advice but surely it matters what those mini meals comprise of?
Calorie surplus and strength training. No way to gain muscle mass without fat, and if you do then congratulation you will be a genetic freak of nature who will be approached for scientific research.
Well you should be gaining muscle faster than you gain fat, so in effect you are lowering your bodyfat percentage. But yeah, naturally you're going to get SOME fat gain when in a caloric surplus. Don't be scared though FPer's, you're not going to get "fat" unless you already are fat. We're talking minimal amounts of fat gain, and if you're training correctly, the muscle gain will be faster, so you'll probably end up being leaner than you were when you started.
