How can anyone name their talk show "Quite Interesting" ? I mean, usually the point of good shows is that they are interesting, and these yokels call their media market meeting 'Quite Interesting' Might as well call it "Exceptionally Interesting" or rather, "Not-so Interesting."

I feel special. I said "Which Sphincter?" when Stephen asked the question.
I was checking all my sphincters.
with your finger?
Holy shit I don't usually get into Jack Whitehall's comedy, but that Bono joke made me burst out laughing.
with your finger?
I usually poke myself in the eye when people ask me things.

That was the best ending of a J series episode yet! It even had a closing quote again. Also, I knew the answers to all the hat related questions. Finally the shows gets down to my level.
Well. That was slightly more morbid than expected.
I gotta build me one of those Vortex canons.

ending bit bothered me. the odds are it hasn't been done before but not guaranteed. sounds like a pigeon hole principle thing to me. like you could have 2 decks and 2 people shuffle them and they get the same deck order, unlikely but can happen. to guarantee that at least 2 people get the same deck order then you would need 52! + 1 people shuffling decks. i should've been a panelist on that episode just to correct stephen [editline]4th November 2012[/editline] an easier way to think about it is "how many people to you need to guarantee at least 2 have the same birth month?" the answer is 13. 2 could obviously work but to guarantee it you need 12 (each person has a different birth month) + 1 (and the last person has to have a birth month that is the same as one of the first 12).

Given that people tend to be involved in the process of making babies, it most likely favours a number of months over the others. In theory, you're perfectly right though of course.
John Session irritates the crap out of me so much that I feel like I've just been jogging for an hour.
that card thing was pretty cool, but i wasn't entirely convinced Its amazing that their is that many numbers of permutations, but at the same time, its a hard fact to swallow

In theory, you're perfectly right though of course.
13 is the number to guarentee it. so if we're talking about birthdays instead of birthmonths now, ignoring leap years, you need 366 people to guarentee 2 have the same birthday. you can go into the probability of it though, i think something like 22 people has over a 90% probability that 2 have the same birrthday, assuming random birthdays. in reality the probability is much higher since yes most parents fuck around christmas / new years and more people are born in the fall. either way it isn't a guarentee, only 366 is. [editline]5th November 2012[/editline] the only point at which the odds that 2 people have the same birthday / month is 1 is 366 / 13. anything below that and it can certainly be a very high probability but it isn't one
any new episode this week?
Nope.
I bet this question has been asked a thousand times, but... Does anyone know what those small books the panelists write on sometimes are for? You can see them in the episode above when they try to wave away the gas.

Is there any QI season DVD boxes to sell in Finland? Also that black man was rather annoying. Like he didn't want to be in that show or felt outsider and didn't get their jokes.
