Just started watching this (from season 1/A), fantastic show. So far, I've seen Alan trip the forfeit buzzer like 10 times in a single episode.
It's a shame that there wasn't a single buzzer that episode

His rants nearly always branch from things SOMEBODY else has said. You can't prepare for what people might say in retaliation to a comment about a topic stumbled upon from a question.
If Jo is the one then she should stop coz it's still not funny. Just one joke with different spins.

Quite right. David Mitchell's bread and milk rant couldn't have been prepared because it was a reaction to Alan.
And everyone knows Alan's thought process does not adhere to the laws of nature and is therefore unpredictable.

I do rather wish that they would take the 2 seconds to say "I'll give you points for that" like they used to. Now it's just suddenly scores at the end
Usually I find Johnny Vegas to be annoying but he was great in that episode

It's just got more stuff in it. For instance, in this XL episode there's a question about Venus flytraps at around 14 minutes that wasn't in the original episode.

QI XL Episodes are like the Lord of the Rings Extended Editions. It has a longer running time and there are more scenes with Saruman in it.

Yeah, they released the uncut XL version of the A series the other day. Includes all the Saruman scenes they thought were unnecessary, so that's cool. Pretty sure it's on the BBC store site.

I love this show, but I find the theme so off putting. It sounds like something from a dodgy educational program and just doesn't fit in my opinion.

Sometimes I wish we could be more like the other television threads in this section, full of reflection and speculation.
Maybe we should all guess which character is going to die next episode? Or predict how the story is going to turn at the season finale.
