• QI (Quite Interesting)

Oh god, watching the Sherlock Holmes part with family is agonising when trying to stop yourself from laughing while absolutely nobody else is. Jesus that part was hilarious. Any ideas if and when the BBC is gonna release more QI DVDs? So far I've only got series 1, B, and C on disc, and I don't feel like ruining my bandwidth watching them online.
Also for those who don't know her, Victoria Coren is a massive poker person and is engaged to David Mitchell from Peep Show and that Mitchell and Webb look

I think most men will share Mr. Fry's statement.
Man, I wish I got this on DirecTV, but I'm pretty sure I don't have BBC as a channel. (For the record, the show IS listed on TV as QI, right? It's not "Quite Interesting", is it? Also Sandi Toksvig is by far the best female panelist. Sandi, Phill, and David would be my dream panel.

All I've heard on the matter is that it won't be aired on BBC America. If I can get the ACTUAL BBC channel, which I doubt, then I could watch it. Then again that's probably exactly what you just said. I'm too tired to process.
Avid QI fans might have noticed that General Ignorance and the end quote seem to have been discontinued in the J series. I really hope it was just the first two episodes and it isn't a permanent thing, but I don't think that's the case. [editline]23rd September 2012[/editline] I looked into it a bit more, and it turns out they still have the General Ignorance questions, but they spread them throughout the program so people don't anticipate the klaxon and get all careful. I think it's a shame though. I actually like it when people who have been on before hesitate to say the obvious answer. Not having a dedicated General Ignorance round works for balancing the game out, but to me it's bleedingly obvious that the fun and the tradition of it is more important than that.
I've had a snoop and rewatched the documentary they made a while back, and it seems that the reason behind GI disappearing is that they can't find any more common misconceptions to use. Shame really, it was a nice change of pace.

I think I watched a 'making of' once, but that was quite a while ago and they didn't mention anything about the J series. Do you have a link by any chance?

Can't forget the new one
Gunner, I love you.
Can't forget the new one
Why hello there. I was wondering when it was going to show up. These days I go to BalmafulaLanando for my QI fix, but he seems to be running late.

Phill Jupitus was great in that episode.

Ok, someone explain to me how does the "what, X, you mean" thing works? Cause they just did it with Russel Brand, and I really want to know what it's all about.
Ok, someone explain to me how does the "what, X, you mean" thing works? Cause they just did it with Russel Brand, and I really want to know what it's all about.
It just means that the QI Elves knew they'd give that answer, and that it would be wrong. They quite often ask questions with an obvious/well know (but incorrect) answer to trick them into losing points.
The points aren't really that important. Most contestants give the obvious answer to "take one for the team". Except, you know, Alan Davies.
Does anyone happen to know the name of the music that plays when the panel is getting on with their crafts? It also played when they were drawing novelty tea pots in an earlier series. I'm not sure why but I have a sudden urge to listen to it.
This one?
Might cut that so I can put it on an infinite loop...
I watched Alan Davies live doing standup on Sunday, he was really funny

It's kinda annoying how it seems that they try to pick two women just BECAUSE they're women. That lovely smell of irony. I mean I find Sandi Toksvig very entertaining but that other one, bloody hell, get her out of that chair and replace her with someone funny.
