interesting social experiment of sorts.
Funny how the only person to not get angry was the crackhead.

I'd rather not watch someone with a video camera going around being a cunt
Good video, people don't need to get so pissed.
I enjoyed it, you have some guts doing this around your school.

why do they get so pissed
I think he's just trying to make a blunt point about the whole surveillance society thing.
No one gets mad when they see this at every street corner
but when it's someone they can actually see doing it they get angry.
they seem confused

Oh whoops, I thought that was you. Anyway, I agree. Sometimes I record my dad (Not intentionally) and gets pretty upset with me. I guess the only difference is that the surveillance cameras are in good hands and the cameras can be posted anywhere, like facepunch.

Dunno bout that
Well they're usually owned by officials or companies, I don't know what else they'd do with them besides identify people and such.
I think people actually don't like being videotaped anyway, it's just that in this case that the dude is actually standing there, and they can actually do something about it, unlike government cameras.
[editline]3rd March 2013[/editline]
Not to mention- those who don't mind government cameras probably don't mind because those kind of cameras are often used to identify people in crimes, which can help someone. Those individuals are likely upset because that film will most likely not help them, and it could create a negative image for them.
"HURR IM GONNA STICK A CAMERA IN UR FACE XD"
The creator of this video needs to get slapped

How are you supposed to act when a creep is following you with a camera, recording you while being vague and confrontational when asked why he's doing it?
There's a difference in being filmed by someone who is not affiliated with the property you're at and being filmed by surveillance cameras owned by whoever owns the property.
What I love is all the stupid comebacks. Like when he mentions there are cameras everywhere, they're just like errrm. They all get really offended want to call the police. I really want to do this.

I guess you have a point there, but there are times in the video where they downright explode after only a few seconds.

Say whats up and keep going on as usual? I'm sure he didnt keep any videos of people that just didnt care.
Its an invasion of privacy and it's obvious that he is just doing it to annoy people.
Being filmed by a security camera from the ceiling recording everything 24 hours a day, most likely with low resolution and frame-rate isn't as bad as having a guy stick a camera in your face whilst being a dick. Not to mention that security cameras are for documenting criminal activities which can then be used as evidence in court, while this guy is just putting the videos on youtube so other idiots like him can laugh and mock these people.

Agreed, should also be noted that a lot of cameras don't have audio nor the ability to get right up in your face and be a massive dick.
I agree it was a little too much, not too sure on the laws on public videos in the states but I still think that was too much, especially after being asked to stop, mostly in private buildings.
Lot of Asians.
Anyway at 12:30 I think he actually entered a residence.
what a cunt
If he did that to me I'd break that fuckers camera
This isn't a social experiment, this is an idiot with a camera. This is on the same rank of people openly carrying guns with cameras just to get reactions. Surveillance cameras are used to help stop crimes and prevent burglary. This idiot is taking videos just to get reactions and is doing so for no other reason. If surveillance cameras were so bad in America than London must be the living example of 1984.
If anyone does that to me, I'll ask if I can borrow their camera and record them for a while and see how they feel.
Then just run off with it.
People are just really hostile about this. I can see asking why you are taking a video but not reacting violently the way they are. He was a bit of a dick getting that close to them and just walking up to random conversations though.
The argument that your video is being taken everywhere in public by surveillance therefore a guy pointing a camera at you shouldn't be any different is pretty weak. If you walk into a store or even down a street with surveillance cameras you can rest assured that your likeness isn't being used for things you disagree with. If someone starts pointing a camera at you and following you around you have no idea if they are going to use that footage to spin hate, propaganda, and bigotry using your image. Something as simple as two men talking in a car could be used in an anti homosexuality video, or someone just standing around talking on their cell phone could be used to make that person appear as if they are a drug dealer. It's impossible to know how the footage will manipulated and if you agree with how it is being used. Documentaries and news segments are notorious for spinning irrelevant video footage to promote bias.
I don't mind being viewed by a government owned camera, but when someones behind it following me around and being a pretentious douche getting up in my face i will hit them hard. It's probably just me but the people in this video have very mild reactions

Looks like a mahjong parlor.
That one where he walks behind and among the orchestra was pretty stupid, though. What an asshole.

While there's nothing illegal about this, there's this thing called social etiquette that most people tend to follow. IE, most people don't want random passersby to tune in on their conversation, nor do they want to be watched constantly or documented on a camera.
It's totally in your rights to do this, but you're not doing anyone a service and you're really just going out of your way to be an asshole to people going on about their day.
I'm not surprised that people are angry, but I am surprised how many people call the police so quickly for something they can for the most part walk away from when they're in public, in the private areas I can understand.
If i was that guy on the phone outside the cafe 5 mins in, i would of "accidentally" spilt the coffee on him.
