Gun bans just don't work because it only disarms the law abiding. If somebody wants to shoot people, they'll get what they want illegally.

Throwing more guns into the situation by arming teachers doesn't sound like it's a good idea to me. The guy's mom had guns too and she wasn't able to stop him either. Armed security at schools maybe, but I still think doing that is putting a bandaid on a big problem.
I think Constitutional Carry would work, in the form it exists in Louisiana. It essentially killed no gun zones. So if a teacher wanted to carry a gun, they could, but it wouldn't be mandatory.
One of the teachers at my school was violently assaulted and mugged in NYC when he was younger so he always carries a licensed gun he has in his car at all times cause he is paranoid as fuck. Also the physics teacher in my school uses the spring from his 1911 to teach his class.

That's like saying you should completely ban all guns like Australia because Australia has a low crime rate.
Crime rate is usually tied to racial diversity. Countries with low crime rates like Switzerland and Sweden and stuff are generally very racially homogeneous. America however is probably one of the most racially diverse countries in the world, which causes problems

A complete gun ban would never work. Think of prohibiton, when the main method of acquiring alcohol was removed, people looked to the secondary method, and that sector delivered. The exact same will happen in the event of a complete firearms ban. The best that can be done is try to increase the length of time or effort needed to obtain a firearm, but once guns are completely banned, the illegal firearms trade will explode. Make it a bit harder to acquire class 2 and above licenses, but always leave room to allow those who are set upon obtaining an assault weapon to acquire one, and make sure that doing it legally is more viable than illegally, and don't allow the illegal trade of firearms to bloom. Completely banning guns will just result in gangs becoming more powerful as the black market expands, and it won't solve anything nor prevent any shootings.
