shit German...on principal alone scientific funding is more important than military funding (which is what i'm sure half of it would boil down to). Whether we [I]can[/I] afford to transfer funding is another story, but it wouldn't be hard to argue and I'm all for human progress.

The issues with science are a bigger deal at the moment than anything involving guns, yeah gun control is shitty but I'd rather live with some restrictions and utilize the rest of the [i]infinite[/i] space out there than be stuck arguing over firearms all day.
Let's face it, regardless of how we treat the planet, it's gonna run dry of resources we need. We can either turn to colonization or asteroid mining, either way it's going to require substantially pushes in science funding before we get close to that

There's no way to cure nuclear fallout
