What Why

Just to be as safe as possible. The only vehicles that'll be on the road are plows, emergency services, maintenance, etc. I haven't read the whole list of exceptions, I only heard the governor giving his announcement on the radio. They want to remove the unnecessary driving that'll just make accidents more likely. No one wants to lose power because some guy slid on the road and hit a pole while getting milk for his coffee. They're already getting like 5,000 National Guard people ready to help, they weren't specific about what they'll be doing though. Massachusetts is going to sleep for a couple days while the blizzard passes, it's chill time.

Lucky bastard, I got no snow that's sticking.

In the 50's to 60's here in Arkansas, we already had a huge ice storm that knocked out basically everybody's power a few weeks ago.
