Beware that compared to a place like Winnipeg or North Bay, the city of Toronto will freak out and call in our military just to clear out 10 cm of snow.
come get yelled at by angry french people in montreal, you don't know what they're saying but you know it's all swearing.
I actually knew a French Canadian teacher in my secondary school. Always being reported by students.
He was okay with me though. Personally I think he was just home sick and didn't work well with stress.
if you go to vancouver, its basically rain 24/7 in the winter with the odd random flurry a few times a month. I had a chinese friend come over to Vancouver and he said it was like Hong Kong because there were so many asians.
I live near Toronto. PM for do's and dont's if you want.
I would be more than happy to hear them.
I think the don't's might be quite important. Knowing my luck I might end up saying some stupid shit since I don't know how people take crude humor over their.
You're fine if you make crude or awful jokes against Americans, but if you do it against Canadians its not good.
If all goes to plan summer of this year but for now we are very flexible on dates. Possibly June or July.
I'll either be in Vancouver or Toronto during the summer months. Vancouver is great during the summer.
Spend a week (at least), and go explore the BC interior, then spend a few days either downtown shopping, on Vancouver island, etc.
Toronto wise, I'm fairly new to the city. You're probably better off asking someone else here.

Want good beer? If you visit Saguenay, try going to La Voie Malté. Got some prise winning beers there.
A friend once told me that it's illegal to push over a snowman.
I highly doubt that though. :v:
People out here in the maritimes certainly do.
Yep, if you come to Cape Breton expect people to use the word B'y in nearly every sentence, don't try to imitate it either, you'll be made out to be a fool.
Ow she going dere b'y?

Don't eat the yellow snow.
Canada is like the USA but more liberal with less shitty laws.
We have equal rights for all, medical marijuana, right to life (euthanasia).
We don't have people slipping through the laws based on silly loop holes.
We have more than two political parties who own seats.
Other than that, were pretty much like the USA, so like.. not a huge amount of differences. We like fatty foods and fast vehicles.
Vancouver is a fucking breeze to travel around without a car.

Any time someone I know says "eh", I always end my response with "Be".

Watch out for the majority of french canadians. They are generally a rather moody bunch (just in my experience).

Really? People do it all the time. Specially the older folks. Younger generation is just a bunch of stuck up dumbasses though.
Don't be surprised when people you've never seen in your life smile at you and say good morning or something
He's going to Toronto, so there's no risk of that happening
Get that typically in the UK depending on where you are.
Villages people will be friendly and generally say good morning to strangers let alone the friendly nature of the residents will put any person in a good mood. In council estates older people won't even stare in a younger persons general direction in fear of being mugged.
But I would like to explore a lot of Canada and if it lives up to the friendly nature that it is known for good for them. Not every country has such a good reputation. Better for me since it will be my first time traveling. Makes me at least feel a lot safer.

Depends on where you're going...some transit times are terrible (but not others). Went from Silver City to North Van yesterday...took 2 hours via transit :(

Home of the heaviest drinkers.
There's also La brasserie du lac that makes good beer that you can get at some other places too in bottles, super tasty, but quite the price.
