A little update on Book 2. Kick-Ass: Balls to the Wall is expected to be stockpiled and released with fewer gaps between issues, starting around the time of the 2010 San Diego Comic Con. That's late July. Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. planned to have a Trilogy from the time they first started work on Kick-Ass, more than three years ago. They're also good pals with Matthew Vaughan now, and plan to stick with him and Jane Goldman if the film follows the books ways. [sp]Hit Girl and Red Mist/Motherfucker[/sp] are proven to be major characters in Balls to the Wall.
You normally don't see Nicolas Cage having roles like this. And by that, i mean him being in one of those movies. And by that, I mean things like Superbad, Zombieland, etc... Going to go see it this weekend. Looks kick-ass.
There's going to be one thing inherently wrong with any Kick-Ass sequels. [sp]No Big Daddy.[/sp] [editline]01:44PM[/editline]
You normally don't see Nicolas Cage having roles like this. [sp]But there will definitely be Hit-Girl. Just wait 'til she gets older. She'll kick even more ass, and maybe have some nice looks to boot.[/sp]

skimmed through the comic at a book store. so many little changes. I think I liked the way the movie did it better. also lol'd at all the 'thunk' jokes.
Does it have that seen from the comic where [sp] Katie Deauxma's boyfriend sends him picks of her sucking his dick[/sp]? I thought it was great ironic twist in the comic, and I hope it's in the movie.

Kick ass movie, Loved their selection of re-used music from other movies, they fit perfectly... The one where [sp]Big Daddy dies[/sp] is from Sunshine, which is also a pretty good movie in itself, although the entire plot was Mediocre, But it with the scene in Kick Ass combined made one of the better scenes in recent movie history, No comedy, Just Action and atmosphere, Was neat to see how a Comedy could take a dramatic turn like that and it actually work The way Cage talks as BD had me laughing my ass off too
I loved this movie, every bit of it. Gonna pick up the graphic novel and read it. Can't wait for the sequel, I wanna see what new costumed heroes/villains they come up with, besides Motherfucker.
Hit Girl trying to live a normal life. So, it might focus on her this time.
What the hell, why does it get simultaneous release in Thailand and yet the rest of the world apart from America gets it at least a month away.
Movie critics should be fired. They gave the movie a 1/5 because the kids swear. Who the shit care? It is the adults fault anyways for exposing kids to it. Also it has nothing to do with the movie.
Good news everyone! IMDB.com give 8.5/10 and he's now on #166(from the top #250). It's too bad it wasn't in the first place at the top box-office this week.

It's an awesome movie.
Seeing it tonight after class. Thank god there is a 9:40pm showing.
saw it last night. awesome movie, best i've seen of nick cage in like 10 years.
Hated every scene with [sp]the jetpack, the movie tries to be realistic with no super powers and characters being beat up, then all of a sudden a jetpack, with gatling guns which would be impossible in real life[/sp]
You're criticsing the jetpack for being unrealistic? How about an 11-year-old killing over 30 well-armed men with dual handguns and blades? Oh, then there's the whole "SMAW Rocket pushes a fully grown man through a pane of glass and straight off a building for about a hundred feet then exploding"? But shit, Nicholas Cage not getting wounded during the warehouse fight is totally chill too. It's a movie.
Katie[sp]was not a bitch in this movie[/sp]. I was surprised at that. I really hope Kick-ass[sp]gets some training from Hit Girl[/sp]in the next volume[sp]so he can actually fight[/sp]. That'd be awesome.
A special message from the director of "Kick Ass" - "Oh boy, I am going to make soooooo much money from this film, or should I say, from the scenes of a young girl slashing and shooting Mafioso to hell. Hahaha! I'm a skilled filmmaker and a smart guy, but you know, sometimes these qualities aren't enough to bring you all you deserve in life. Bring on Hit Girl – and show me the money!! Let me tell you a little secret: if your film is smart, hip, funny and has a few touching moments, lotsa people will accept all sorts of nasty stuff thrown in. Wouldn't they look unsophisticated and humdrum in front of their friends and peers if they didn't!! Yep, I've covered all the bases, ladies and gentleman. Of course I've also publicly stated that fans of the Kick Ass comic would kill me if I held back on the violence. It's a pretty pat and convenient excuse, but the amazing thing is, no one has thus far taken me to task for it. Who said indifference is a bad thing? Certainly not my savings account, hehe! On the other hand, I really worry about how jaded and apathetic so many people in society have become. As a filmmaker and a businessman, this poses a real challenge, but I feel we have overcome it with "Kick Ass"! Hit Girl is a shot in the arm for all and sundry. People are fighting the good fight, silencing the uncool who have voiced dismay at our adding a young girl to all this awesome savagery. (All in good fun!) It is inspiring to read and watch…and I don't notice I'm getting any poorer in the process, hehe! You know guys, life is grrrreat!!!"
IMDb reviews are hilarious. and another.
Nasty, sad film made for people who need to get out more. The only funny part of watching this film was see that in a 350 seat cinema on a Friday night 25 people had come in to watch it. I wouldn't recommend it to a dead rat. Its not about comic book hero's. Its not funny. Its not ironic. Its not making subtle references to other films. Its doesn't make you think. Once you've heard f''k over and over and over and over again, you've seen the blood from xth baddie shoot out the back of his head, you've tried to square the jarring contradictions, you realise that your just not a liberal, balanced, intelligent person and your not able to appreciate good knife edge work. Then you remember; course you are; it just crap.
Oh my goodness another!
This movie shows you a lot of cruel torture scenes that end up with the victim killed violently. These scenes made me sick and I had to walk out of the movie because I was so disgusted. There were cool moments in the movie but they were all destroyed once you see someone being smashed in a car to death or any of the other torture scenes. Ironically the movie shows you these scenes as something to laugh about, as if seeing someone begging not to die is funny to watch, I didn't appreciate that and I don't want to see it, especially not when I paid money to watch a movie. Nicolas Cage, I don't enjoy seeing him on screen anymore. If you don't like seeing cruel anti human scenes then don't waste your time on this movie.
One more (Last one I swear)
Without a doubt the worst movie of the year. Starts off well and you start to think of the potential this movie could of had. But about half way through you wish it would just end. I never thought a movie could be so beyond the grasp of artistic and theatrical reality. Well I was proved wrong tonight. So far fetched, even for such a genre. Don't get me wrong....there were some funny scenes and exciting action sequences, but that is all forgotten by the end. I could of understood the addition of the character Nicolas Cage plays, having lost his wife seeks bitter retribution. But the daughter, I don't know who the hell this little child is but she couldn't act if her life depended on it. No need for her character at all. The character just plane doesn't work. Almost the entire audience felt disdain during her characters scenes. The plot had great potential. They could of produced a decent movie... The geek who has no super powers becomes a super hero only to fail and here comes Nicolas cage's character to the rescue..only to die just having attained revenge.. and that would of been a better film...well something like that anyway. Toward the end, I was only hoping the child gets a bullet to the head, just in time to see the credits start rolling. Now that would of saved this movie. A movie were the bad guy wins in such circumstances. That would of made me smile. Do yourself a favor and watch something else.
people get so mad when writing reviews. oh well. just got back from the movie, fucking awesome.
The internet has brought about this mindset that if you don't like something, you have a place to complain about it, and feel like people actually give a shit Kick-ass was kick ass, It's a movie that you voluntarily go see, anyone who complains about the content being too much for their flakie asses to handle should go watch something from Disney instead
I work at a movie theater and the number of people asking me if Kick-Ass is a kid's movie is alarming. My coworker got yelled at by some idiot because he "dared to sell his family tickets" to a movie that wasn't family friendly. [editline]01:32AM[/editline] Also the amount of people saying shit like so and so character is unecessary are fucking retarded. Yeah, those characters are necessary considering THEY WERE IN THE FUCKING SOURCE MATERIAL

Just saw this and loved it. Hit girl was the shit.
Oh my go! That movie was fantastic! The action scenes were creative, hilarious, and epic all at the same time. Red Mist's car was fucking bad ass! I think this just made its way into my top five.
