I've done the first workout, I was surprised on hard it was, I managed to do 20 on the last set still.
As a warm-up before MMA training, we have to do 100 push ups, 200 crunches, and 300 jumping jacks in under 15 minutes.
wow alpha male maverick in the house
Doing 200 situps actually, same sort of thing. My situps are absolute shit, so I figured I'd get better at them.
Yep I am skinny plus the last time I did any proper exercise was over 3 years ago :(
wOW, YOU MUST BE HAVING A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH YOUR HEALTH./caps, sorry
On winter holidays I didn't do exercises for a week and my pressure became shit. When I standed up fast, my head would like boil for 10-15 secs. When I started doing exercises again everything went OK.

Maybe I should exercise a bit.

I'm doing both the situps and pushups

There is my max push up count.
You should feature it in the OP. Might serve for motivation to all those Fpers. :smug:
I did twelve. Rank 2.
I'm doing this and the 200 squats challenge (Situps will be after this) and I must say that I can barely go up or down the stairs, taking the initial test on Sunday night and doing Week 3 Table 3 the next day. :smith:
My parents have been bothering me to work out, and I wouldn't mind eating healthier and gaining a little muscle :P
I'm in :D
Looks like I'm a bit late, but hey count me in if you want. I'll do my initial test now.
25 on the initial.
I'm doing it.
[editline]17th January 2011[/editline]
Holy crap I suck at doing pushups, I can barely do Set 1 for Rank 1.
Set up a group for reminders and whatnot.

Kickass! :hf:
I'm doing all the programs - 100 Pushups, 200 Situps and 200 Squats.
By the end of this I'll be so ripped that bitches'll be on my dick 24/7
Sorry but bodyweight exercises add little to no muscle. So unless you're doing 200lb squats you won't see any significant increase in muscle mass.
Oh and BW exercises don't lower your BF% either.
Signing up cause I'm flabby as fuck.
sign me up, got 25 on my initial go and im starting on week 3. i remember when i only used to be able to do 10, but i did the first 3 weeks of this plan and i got to 35ish. that was ages ago and i guess my laziness took over my fitness and made me fall back down
I'm in.(Bit late but I did Monday)
Band 4, mediocrity ftw
I don't know if everyone already knows this but breathing in when going up and breathing out when going down helped alot! My gym teacher used to say it the other way around
I noticed you said this in the group thread. Your gym teacher was correct, you have it backwards. You always want to be exhaling on the exertion and in the case of a pushup that is when you are pushing up.

Oh, alright, thanks for the headsup!
I tried this, I found it broke for me at the second week, because the first week was easy as piss, but I couldn't do a correct second week.
Sign me up though I'll try it again.
Fuck this. I can do like 50 and even if i got to 100 my beer belly wouldn't go away :(
Push-ups don't really help with bellies, as the belly isn't moving. Try sit-ups, because in sit-ups you work the belly and it gains muscles/burns fat.
Oh, alright, thanks for the headsup!
No problem, it's really easy to get the order mixed up and I see a lot of people doing their breathing the opposite way. When I was younger I did it that way too but I would find it difficult to breath in while exerting when I was getting exhausted, so it was probably as bad as holding my breath.
I remember doing this last year, felt so good after doing it, just remember to keep doing pressups regularly or else it will all be a waste of time!
First day of week 3- Done.
It's a start

Back up your claims. Push ups are the best exercise for gaining chest muscle mass.
Bench press is the best exercise for gaining chest muscle mass.
You won't get a large chest doing push ups, you'll get a lean chest. Bodyweight exercises build lean muscle more than large bulky muscle.

Bench press isn't quite the best thing for the chest either, but it's close. Dumbbells are generally
more effective at building the chest than a barbell is and Dumbbell Flies have been proven to be the best
chest exercise to build mass.
actually disregard that, any kind of Fly movements for the chest are the best exercises.
Whether Cable or Dumbbell flies.
I accept the challenge.
