straight up athletic beast right here
I'll do it starting next monday. [editline]5:29 PM[/editline] I'd start today but I've hurt my neck and I can't make those kinds of movements.
Did Week 3 Day 1 today. Can tell I'm going to be sore.
I bet most of the people saying they can do 50+ are either trollin', or are using terrible form. If you're not doing the pushup correctly (controlling yourself as you lower your body to the ground, and then carefully raising it back up), it's not going to do you much good.
so I decided to start round one, after i did the initial test, fuck waiting. I then did 50 jumping jacks, 20 sit ups, and 50 leg curls on the exercise machine. Now im tired, gonna do it again tonight, fuck resting.

I can explain scientifically why, if you would like, but generally speaking, your muscles grow while you are resting.
Sign me up.
If you want to build muscle, you need to rest. Don't overdo it. But i like to hear how rest helps scientifically for muscle growth.
I'll do it, and I decided that I just suck so much at any physical exercise I'm going to do rank 1.
I'll be trying this out, I'll be happy if I can get 50 push-ups consecutively.. I'll be eating healthier too, hopefully this will get me to gain some weight, I am 6'2" and weigh like, 138 pounds.. fffff
well I know that, but I overslept last night(12-13 hours), so ive rested enough in my opinion. But i like to hear how rest helps scientifically for muscle growth.
It doesn't matter if you overslept the night before. It's all about resting between the workouts. If you overtrain, you risk achieving no muscle gains, sickness, and the like. Our bodies need to heal before they grow. When you exercise the muscles, they are effectively "torn". They then, while resting, repair, and grow back stronger (and larger than before). If you don't give the muscles the time to repair, you are interrupting the recovery process, and they will not undergo the repairing process. Also, on a side note, despite what you may think, professional body builders may only spend an hour to an hour and a half in the gym. Big muscle growth is a result of a suitable diet and adequate rest.
fine, ill do the set tomorrow then.
Just trying to help you out man. No need to be an asshat about it.
Day 3, 20 pushups. 5 up from the first day isn't bad, I just need to start working out again.
Sorry but bodyweight exercises add little to no muscle. So unless you're doing 200lb squats you won't see any significant increase in muscle mass. Oh and BW exercises don't lower your BF% either.
good job taking my post seriously you deserve a gold sticker
HAH! This is a coincidence. I just started doing 100 push-ups a day on Saturday. Not consecutive, mind you, more like in bursts of 20 until I reach one hundred with breaks inbetween. It's damn hard stuff, but I'm amazed at how pushups work on pretty much everything that matters to you. Count me "in".
Just did week one day one, feels like my arms are about to fall off, but feels strangely good. Also this helped
Level 3 right now. Want to be level 7
Did 2nd column, week 3. Feels good.
Just trying to help you out man. No need to be an asshat about it.
nah you're taking it the wrong way. Not being a asshat
I was gonna do 100 puch-ups, but then I got high.. Guess I'm doing it tomorrow. I quit smoking today so I'm feelin fine
I tried this. Made it to the point where I could do the first 10 easily, and fiddle around with the next 10. Then I noticed my comfortable sofa, sat down, and went back to browsing facepunch. :smug:
Rank 2 woo!... :smith:
I'm in
sign me up pls 25 initial
i can only do 2 consecutive pushups.
I'll do it, and I decided that I just suck so much at any physical exercise I'm going to do rank 1.
HOLY MOTHERFUCKING GOD! I didn't realise how out of shape I am. I'm not obese or anything, I just have no upper body strength, at all.
I wanted to find out what rank I currently am, turns out I'm a rank 5 (under 40). I'll give this a shot to try and achieve rank 7.
Woke up aching so bad I couldn't get out of bed. That's a good sign! :buddy: Also, thread music:
Did my bit in the same room as my sleeping roomie, but felt good about it. Started on week three, >25 rank.
