I can only do 10 push ups with a 15kg backpack on. Is this the best way to gain muscle mass?

If you're solely looking to gain muscle mass and you can do 10 with +15 kg, I would add on more weight. Set your breakthrough goal at 10; once you can crack 10, it's time to add more weight. Same concept as power-building, really.
50
I have since quit smoking and can now do about 30
Week Day 2 was finished well yesterday, with 20 on the last set.
So today I did a max of 33. I could barely feel my arms. my record is 30 I broke it by 3 :D
Increased my max by 3 in two days, and I'm feeling great! I'm starting to enjoy this, I've never really done a program like this before. Or any exercise ever.
Gosh, dropping down to column 1 I think. I managed the 6 set and the 8 set and then the next 6 set, but the last 6 set and the max set I just couldn't handle.
Im a little late but ill start it today XD

I had to restart Week 1 for pushups but I managed to move onto Week 4 for squats. I tried Week 2 for the pushups and collapsed after the second set while squats became even easier. :buddy:
Almost forgot this.
Couldnt manage my pushups this morning, however I have been to the gym!
Finishing week 3 almost killed me, so I'mma repeat it.
DAMN my max increased a LOT.
I use to be able to do 15-20 (depending on how rested i was)
now i can do 35.. almost a double in max.. and i did this a DAY after i did week 2 day 3, i have not taken a break between day 2 and 3, so ive done this 3 days in a row, i bet I could of gotten a max of 40-45 if I waited a few more days.
damn I feel proud just in this improvement.
Did week 2 Day 2, barely made it passed the final set, but I like my results so far.
my arms are killing me, this program is making me hate life
I'm having a much harder time on sit ups than push ups. Even on week 2 my arms are only sore for about 2 hours after the work out.

really? my arms stopped getting fatigued/sore 3 days in.
I only just saw this today so I've done my initial test and got 19 and come Monday I'm going to start my week one.
It's gonna be a hard task, but I think I can do it easy enough just because I have a strong will to get through tough shit like this.
I need to build my arms up properly. My arms, shoulder down, if you could imagine, are like a bottleneck for me. It's weird, the rest of my body is more built than them.. lol, so my arms trying to lift that weight is retarded
Better get back to the gym!
I just searched for the 100 pushups app on the apple app store and I see that there is also the 200 sit ups and 200 squats plans as well. They also have their own websites.
[editline]27th January 2011[/editline]
There is also a 25 pull ups plan coming soon as well, which should be interesting as I can't even do 1 pull up without jumping.

My workouts so far.
[editline]28th January 2011[/editline]
I am also lifting 2x 1kb dumbbells (10-20 times while standing), running 15 minutes and doing 4 sets of 7 sit-ups a day aside the push-up sets.
Week 3, day 3, rank 3
that's 118 total pushups in a single workout and my arms a literally so thrashed that I could barely lift my reward smoke to my mouth when I was done :geno:
I'm glad people are taking measures to change it, but it's still shocking to see how weak some people are. I don't remember ever being so weak, even when I was a ridiculously skinny middle school kid. It's shocking.

Some people are fat.
My max today was 35. Improved by 2 since Wednesday. I could probably do more but I forgot since I've been watching the Egypt revolution all day and when I realized it was already 11 and I'm tired. :/
Also, I can feel the muscles in my arms getting really defined just from 2 weeks of doing this. This is awesome! I hate having flabby arms.

Being weak > Being a cockjockey
Also I think I'm gonna ditch this program and do the pull ups one instead. I got far more noticeable results after doing pull ups for a while than I ever did with push ups
I just pumped out 3385 push ups. Can I unlock hats or something with my PushUpPoints now?
Didn't do the program this week, gonna have to restart
