I'm not willing to pay more than a hundred dollars for something I'm wearing outside. Noise cancellation isn't a huge concern, I just want to be able to hear the music without having to turn it up to the maximum volume in the metro, the HD202s are alright in that domain. If there's nothing decent at this budget though I'll consider saving up for it, just throw some models at me.
So, I might just buy a nice Sennheiser Headset before I even buy my new PC so I can use them now. I just can't ever find a headset that fits comfortably around my ears and doesn't suction them to the side of my head.
Listening to music in a car is really cool. Unfortunately, my car has the ball of sound effect. And the "ball of sound" isn't where the driver sits. Its more around the center console and front passenger seat. The driver side sounds pretty dull. Even for 75-100 W speakers, they can do pretty well, at least, as best as your going to get with a stock radio with a cassette deck. It just sort of sucks that the music only sounds really good, in the spot you sit the least often in your own car. Also, I've noted, that some songs sound better on some sound systems. If a song doesn't really have incredibly low bass, you can crank it pretty loud before distortion starts taking effect. If it has a lot of bass (ex meant for really good speakers and subs) it will start cutting off the treble if its too loud. I think I might need to upgrade my car's audio, if nothing else, for a real AUX in connection.

I hate to say this but it'll have to be high volume over ears or "jam into your ears" in-ear earphones.

The main reason would probably be because I don't want people around to know what I'm hearing. :smugdog:
i use sennheisers because they are good quality, but they seem to work for a few months then break. this has happened twice now and its damn annoying. what other brands have good quality but are reliable too? (as in good quality in the £40/50 range, anything higher quality is useless to me, since listening to metal every day at high volume has raped my hearing)
but they seem to work for a few months then break.
What do you have to do with Sennheisers to break them so easily? They're built like a brick.
nothing. that's why i don't understand why they break. maybe i'm just unlucky
Do you mean the whole over-ear cup snaps off or what? Unless you mean earphones which I can understand.
Skullcandy are the shittest headphones ever
I've heard worse unfortunately :gonk: [editline]18th June 2011[/editline] These fuckers sound like a platypus giving birth through three layers of steel wool.
Do you mean the whole over-ear cup snaps off or what? Unless you mean earphones which I can understand.
yeah, earphones. one minute they are working then one of them 'pops' and never works again. so they aren't physically broken, but having a single earphone isn't much help. two pairs of seinhausers have done this, but the current pair i've had for about 8 months without them breaking. hopefully they will stay not broken.

I personally hate them, and I did mean the big over ears are built like a brick. The small ones are literally thin pieces of wire that are prone to breaking with regular use. Don't bother imo.
I disagree, they will live forever once you know how to take care of them.
I have the instinct to not really bother about taking care of thin pieces of wire. It is a shame because the high end earphones are really nice and if they break so easily then I would be disappointed. :sigh:

Keep them out of tight pockets. 2. Do not put too much tension on the wires. 3. Do not fold them too tights. Simple as that.

More likely to damage hearing too. Okay I may be starting a war.
Never go anywhere without my trusty headphones;
I tend to not use my headphones when I'm outside, because my head is so tiny, and sennheisers are so damn big :psyduck: But earbuds break so easy, ugh.
I have earbuds that look like these, except the silver is black. They were only €25,- and high quality for the price. I love my beautiful Sennheiser's I won't let anything happen to them.

I've had to glue the casing and they're a bit brash sounding but they're a hell fo a step up from Bose and the like
I love over-ear headphones. Comfortable, and great sound. I just need to buy a decent set for home use. Unfortunately, they are too clumsy to just carry with you when your out and about. And I'm always paranoid that they may get broken/stolen/lost. Stolen isn't likely since I live in South Dakota, but you never know and it sort of goes hand in hand with lost anyway. I stick with in-ear earbuds when I need portability.
Anyone know how good the HD201's are in terms of comfort and durability?

What can I get for about a hundred dollars including a cheap clip-on mic, my headset is broken. Bonus points if you suggest something from here (or any other store based in Canada), I don't even recognize the brands on this one except for Sennheiser and Pioneer though so if they're shit don't bother. Denon and Shure are reliable brands, but expensive.
