i always loved shunt. i even was allowed to drive him once :D
Sir Killalot and Mr.Psycho are my two favourite house-robots. I hate Cassius Chrome though, who the hell thought he would be a good idea?

Shunt was the best :v:
I was watching Robot Wars the other day and had the sudden urge to buy the PS2 game, and I did. I haven't stopped playing it since.
It really got boring towards the end of the show.
The majority of the robots just had flippers.

I'll never forget this fight.
Not Robot Wars, but it's definitely one of the more impressive combat bots I've seen:

The other one was incredibly shit, plus that spinning thing could easily be flipped over. :v:
I saw it was being shown on Dave.
It is so awesome.
Also, dunno if it's been said, but OP the presenter (Lister) is called Craig Charles.
Didn't they make the team downgrade hypnodisc because it was too powerful, and they made it awful? I seem to remember something like this hapening.
This show is great, one time i remember sitting in my cold house on a friday night with a coke and shouting at the match where, i can't remeber the name of the robot, but it put a huge metal shassy like thing on just to stop it being killed by Razor. There's a picture of it somewhere in the thread. To me that seems very unfair.

I've posted it in this thread. :smug:
When I first saw this I laughed so hard.. it was purely to protect itself from Razer.. nothing else, but that blade was pretty powerful.
Given the weight restrictions of that class, it's pound for pound a fierce machine. I've never seen it lose a fight, that mast also serves as a self-righting mechanism if I recall. Plus no flipper I've seen can get close enough to try.

Ill trade you. You get me the chance to drive Shunt, ill give you my entire life, even my friends and parents.

Titanium steal a rigid structure can EASILY defend that... unless its a diamond cutter. Due to Battlebots being quite not that great compared to Robot Wars anyway, I will have to take your word for it.

Nothing can stop Razor, it was so small compared to other robots but the huge claw would literally rape anything it touched. The only person it didn't kill was one robot made of titanium on the top or something, but they had weight restrictions in place so you couldn't just make an indestructable robot made of titanium with saws all over it and shit.
Razer was small, fast, lightweight and had a ridiculous pounds per square inch crushing power. I can't remember the figured but it was bigger than a car crusher when scaled up to a bigger robot.

I remember when Razor dominated the house robot Matilda. I'll try and find the video.

Sgt. Bash was just like "Fuck you ref" on one episode, so he started pissing around with the ref

Refbot was an unneeded addition and just got in the way most of the time.
Refbot was an unneeded addition and just got in the way most of the time.
Yeah, but it was funny when the other robots had a go at it.
Fun fact: Sir Killalot, contrary to popular belief, does have a weakness. A pretty huge one. His exposed, unprotected insides are highly fucking flammable. He has to actively avoid the flame vents or else he is pretty much destroyed from the inside. This has happened in more than one battle. :v:

sucked when it extinguished Diotoir or Sir Killalot. :saddowns:

Titanium is insanely expensive for the strength you get, alot of people prefer certain grades of steel (molybdenum I think) because:
It's cheaper.
You can weld it without needing a vacuum chamber.
It's nearly as durable.
That and it doesn't matter how strong the material is, you need thickness to make it worth getting. I've seen titanium-shelled bots get torn to shreds simply because it was pretty damn thin titanium sheet. That and titanium is a very durable material, but the sheer momentum of Ziggo's blows often deal internal damage as well, such as knocking batteries loose, bending axles, etc.

There was also that one robot that I posted a video of that Razer couldn't scratch, Drillzilla. With 10mm-thick aluminum armor, Drillzilla was quite literally a 350 lbs. (walker) aluminum BRICK that could travel at up to 30 MPH.

If I remember correctly, Razer's claw had 9 tonnes of crushing power.
Razer's pilot guy looked like a douchebag, if thats who im thinking of.
Oh shit this show was awesome.
Panic Attack was my favourite.
But then there was loads more I loved.

Diotoirs team were huge dicks. Funny dicks, but still dicks.
They've started showing Robot Wars Extreme on Dave recently (every week day at 6pm I think). Not quite as good as the earlier series but still a lot of nostalgia there.
Yeah it's on in the morning too. Still awesome to this day.
Chaos 2 was so annoying because you knew it was gunna win.
Chaos 2 was so annoying because you knew it was gunna win.
And the guy controlling it had a wierd face and annoying smug voice.
Killalot was just... Delete fucking everything. I mean seriously.
In the entire show, the only damage they could do was take off his face mask.
I loved this

And, you know, destroy his insides completely with any heat above 10 degrees.
