alright if I make such wild assumptions, then please by all means explain your views on morality, life, etc...
I simply realize that there's not good people and bad people, there's just people. I find nothing wrong with our society sans the prevalence of bigotry and an obsession with uniformity, but I can hardly hate the world who's existence I owe my own to, besides the fact that we have been getting more objective and individual since the dawn of civilization.
The bottom line is that no matter what the world is, I would love it because it's where I live; it's my experience, my life. And no amount of pain can change that.

If it's not evil, then it's as close as whatever analogue exists in your rose-tinted view of the world

There's no evil in mY world.
I would say, however, that murderers work contrary to mine and most other's interest, and for that reason we have laws.

Don't knock it 'til you try it
To "TheAnarchist" - By imposing a system where one feels obligated to do things, either out of respect to a higher power (Divine or Human, See: The Law) or even fear of that self-same higher power, you stop the vast majority of people doing exactly those things. Sure, some people wouldn't go out and rape, murder and pillage in your exalted state of anarachy, but those would be the victims of the more vocal and violent group, which would probably be a slight majority, who would do just that. Hey, no accountability right? I can do whatever I want
You have no idea what Anarchy is, and you have no idea what you're talking about. First off, the state isn't "The Law", look up definitions of the term "state" and then look up "Common Law".
Second off, what the fuck are you talking about when you say that something like the state prevents minorities from being oppressed by the majority? The state's existence rests on the support of the majority! People ARE raped, murdered and pillaged today, see the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, see the war on drugs, see the jail industry, police brutality, "democracy" (rule of the majority) and "taxation" (extortion). Don't fucking say Anarchy is the system that allows for those things when it's the ONLY one that opposes them in every way. People aren't allowed to do whatever they want under Anarchy, they're allowed to mind their own business so long as they don't initiate aggression towards other people.

I'm pretty sure that some culture, somewhere at some point in time accepted rape as we define it today.
Sadly, nobody accepts it anymore.
Natural morality is basically mutual help and protection of anyone biologically related to you.
As for generally accepted morality, you'll get plenty of different definitions for that.

No shit sherlock, I'm aware what these things are, bottom line is they wouldn't work.
And the examples you gave are broken theological oligarchies that make up a small percentage of the world's governments, and are also extremely misogynistic. The government caters to the male side of the population because they tend to be very violent when things break down or the government doesn't do what it wants (See Afghanistan), so tends to oppress the female side under the guise of religious law.
Yes, that system is broken, but "Common Law" would be just as flawed. Yes our systems are not perfect (I mean western ones here), but they're better than your anarchistic nirvana.
Which, as cited, you'd witness if it were ever to come about. For all the five weeks that it'd remain intact and semi-functioning, before total break down.
It'd either breakdown, or other systems would rise out of it that would fit current non-archistic defintions, in which case it'd still be a failure.
Edit:
Ugh, like that dude on the previous page before me, I'm giving up, it's a fairly worthless debate. L4D2 is calling me.

That is morality in my opinion.
lol way to contradict yourself op
OP presents no academic research to his presentation. That pretty much invalidates the entire argument.
OP has failed in his task.

Only a few of those actually hurt anyone, and those would have happened even if the person was "moral". The problem is that like other people said, there is no morality outside of our natural and instinctual morality. Anything else is artificial and useless except to control and oppress other groups of people.

I don't need academic research for philosophy.

I don't need my parents to tell me what to do anymore, if you're implying that I'm just some 13 year old who wants freedom from their parents.

Yawmwen, you live in washington. Shut the fuck up.
When you live in a few years in some shithole warzone where chaos reigns supreme and people would just as soon as rape you as they would say hello to you, then you can come back and tell us how stupid morality is. Until then drink a big tall mug of STFU.

Most people in this thread are retarded.
I agree with the OP, legislating morality is wrong.
Stop reading Ayn Rand and get some common sense.

How about no? I can say whatever the fuck I want about morality. I don't need to live in some shit country to know something just like I don't need to drink a bottle of cyanide to know what the fuck it will do to me.
Stop reading Ayn Rand and get some common sense.
I don't like Ayn Rand myself. She brings up a few good points but her system would never work.
Mutual respect > morals.
The world would be p sweet
wow OP only has dumbs and a few agrees. Never seen a GD thread with 2 straight ratings.
I agree with OP.
How did this thread go on for so long, it's Yamwen after all... He think he knows everything.
Yes, morality is subjective, and is by and large imaginary device of humans specific to each of us. There is no general morality line that all people obey. The OP's remark of "Do whatever the fuck you want to" is missing the key factor. "Do whatever you want to as long as it does not impede anothers ability to do whatever they want to.". Morality also tells us(In some cases) that homosexuality is wrong. Are we to respect that morality? In a way the OP is right, in many others, he is wrong.
so Stalin was just a person, even though he was downright evil
No such thing as evil, or good for that matter. Subjective terms used to describe people. The only way to be evil would be to acknowledge what you are doing is evil, and without any sort of justification acccept it. Everyone justifies it, and no one truly sees themselves as evil. They see themselves doing good. Good and Evil are just a way of looking back at things, they really don't exist.
No not really.
Morality and Religion are not the same thing you fucking retard. You guys make me lol, thinking Nietzsche was some sort of genius... the man was a fool. HURR HURR LET'S INVALIDATE THE ONE THING THAT MAKES US DIFFERENT FROM THE ANIMALS AND FORGET COMPLETELY NATURAL HUMAN EMPATHY.
If you measure success based on how many heads you have to step on rather than on hard work and perseverence, you are a fool. Nietzsche did. That's why no self respecting philosopher quotes the idiot. Go read some ancient greek philosophy and THEN you can come back to facepunch with your pseudo-intellectualism. But then again, if you did learn (and understand, key word here) ancient greek philosophy, you wouldn't bother coming back to argue this.
