How dare they fuckin' call it 'Prime'. I was happy they finished a trilogy with two pretty good DS games to boot, before they fucked it all up with Other M. Then they introduce this. Ugh, fuck.

Wind Waker released the year before. Zelda fans weren't waiting 6+ years for another title.

Plus like a few months after we got Four Swords, [I]another[/I] entirely new portable adventure on par with the original zelda games was released in the form of Minish Cap, unlike Metroid fans, Zelda fans aren't starved for a good mainline game.

A Prime like game from the perspective of a Federation trooper would be pretty awesome, but only if they kept the dark atmosphere for it.
This game would probably be received better if they didn't have "Metroid (Prime)" in the title, or at least kept it as a subtitle as some type, more realistic visual style instead of this chibi-like thing, and faster paced gameplay.

Zelda still gets multiple releases across all Nintendo platforms.
We haven't had a proper Metroid since Prime 3.
Other M was a colossal turd, and now people are afraid Nintendo will turn away from it completely, like with Chibi Robo, F-Zero, and until recently Star Fox.

I mean if waiting nine years for a good mainline Metroid game only to get this makes me rabid any more rabid than Half-Life, Duke Nukem, etc fans then fine, i'm rabid. Call it what you will, this is kind of a misstep on Nintendo's part.

I'm pretty sure you don't even have to play the game to know how disappointing it's most likely going to be. Enough footage has been shown to warrant the flak it gets.
And when I say disappointing, I mean disappointing as a Metroid title. I'm sure it's probably a decent game on its own, which is why I think it should have just been an original IP instead.
