NC really pushed me away with his reliance on cringeworthy skits.
I'm leaning more towards the Cinema Snob now, he's pretty funny during his improv (I assume) brad tries videos.
Why does he have a commercial cut like it's gonna be on tv or something lol

Because he has ads that go there. It's better than having the video randomly interrupted.
God this fucking movie.
I remember watching it as a kid and being so fucking confused.
The dubbed Norwegian version.

Cinema Snob is the only tolerable member of that clique

Eh, in my opinion Doug and his brother are. I've only seen any of the others in cameos though, I just found them a bit annoying. Maybe I just like NC/Doug because I've been watching his videos for just under half my life.
He prides himself a comedian more than filmmaker. He cares more about content analysis and writing than how realistic the skits are. I mean hell, he goes ridiculous and meta with his skits, so I don't think he's foo concerned with having believable gun recoil.
He's also a pretty shit comedian since he's never been able to efficiently fuck around with his routine and has been using the same devices over and over again for so long.
Also, your talents as a filmmaker and a comedian go hand in hand. You can't deliver a good joke if the camerawork is shabby and using tired and unoriginal shots will result in tired and unoriginal delivery of what could otherwise be decent humor.
Basically, Doug is great at analyzing movies and pointing out their shortcomings but he can't do the same for his own work and it results in him using the same clichés and tropes that he criticizes to begin with.
