Wow. People are talking about 50$ headphones like they are shit. I own 30€ Sennheiser ones and they are very good in quality. Inear, not to much bass, durable. Simply black.
HD-202 Represent.
I was told by an audiophile once that the whole point of being an audiophile is to pay a lot more money for only a small improvement in quality, but to them it's worth it. That's fine I guess, and I'm also fine with my $10 Sony headphones, as uncomfortable as they are. The examples in the OP are just dumb and I don't think anyone buys that shit.
It's surprising how cheap you can get away with decent audio equipment can be if you just do some research first.
I own skullcandys, sure I spent a buttload of money but you know what? They sounds good and they look cool, sennheiser or sony don't don't have dope designs on their headphones, I don't see what the problem here is.
:frog:
[img_thumb]http://skullcandyhesh.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/skullcandy.jpg[/img_thumb]
Pretty sure Skull Candy was conceived as a fashion accessory before anyone actually thought of the actual audio. The guy that thought of the idea wanted something for people to wear while snowboarding and skateboarding.
I listen to mostly rap, and techno, I want high bass what's wrong with them honestly? All thereveiws on amazon said they were pretty solid, and I got em refurbished for like $30
As long as you get them cheap it's fine. I don't like it when extremely cheap earphones are sold for £50+.
adobe after effects is over 900 dollars and people still buy that shit
It was worth it in my eyes though. Especially if you get it with student discounts. My brother helped me get my copy like that.
skullcandys... They sounds good and they look cool
No
sennheiser or sony don't don't have dope designs on their headphones
lol I'm not an audiophile but damn.
A goddamned gorgeous power cord [img_thumb]http://www.audiophilia.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/lessloss.jpg[/img_thumb]
I admit it, I want one.
I admit it, I want one.
Me too, but I would never BUY one.
people who call themselves audiophiles and are fucking dumbasses who buy the shit in OP deserve to lose their money like that. My 20$ pair of seinheisers (gonna get a higher end pair with my new computer) has done the job perfectly well for gaming and the like. On the other hand, with skullcandy earbuds my sister likes so much, it was fucking impossible to game with them. [editline]24th November 2010[/editline] also earbuds a lot like said skullcandy ones are 2$ on dealextreme, proof of the shitty production of them

Eric Johnson claims that he can tell the difference between two different brands of batteries (yes, a goddamn 9V battery) in his pedals. :v:
Eric Johnson claims that he can tell the difference between two different brands of batteries (yes, a goddamn 9V battery) in his pedals. :v:
Different voltages might affect the pedals (full voltage vs almost dead), I've heard that hendrix liked to play with near-dead batteries due to this.
Aaah elitist... I still think that the apple regular white phones are the best. They fit prefectly in my ear compared to koss and many more. They've got the best design and last long. (In before shitstorm about Apple and that they are greedy whores with no quality)

Who the fuck uses 999 bucks on power cords...
Who the fuck uses 999 bucks on power cords...
elitists
I admit it, I want one.
It is a beautiful design for a power cord, but it's expensive as hell.
I use to call myself an audiophile because I cling to my music and massive collection of sounds just because I like entertaining my ears; but this shit is above and beyond that level to a whole other level of what the fuck. I call myself one just because I like auditory sensation and will often pick up on lower quality sounds and music; not because they're bad, but because a 22hz sampling rate sounds quite different from 44hz. Just because I'm this way doesn't mean I go out of my way to spend a fuck-ton on equipment; my brain can't fathom why someone would spend a tons of extra dosh just for slight return in quality. Besides, I'm normally the cause of my own pairs of headphones/earphones dying after a year or few; so I never feel comfortable spending more than $50 on them.
Then you're part of the problem as to why you could find a pair of quality headphones for $20 at any electronics store in 2000, yet today all you find is $50 Skullcandy shitphones. Seriously, that's what Skullcandy does: they take $5 horrible shitty headphones, throw a skull on them and some quirky design, and resell them for $50.
they have nice bass
I've got a 15+ year old Altec Lansing four speaker setup on my computer w/ a sub. Has worked on every system it's been plugged into, and has never crapped out on me. Plus it sounds pretty damn good.
Wouldn't it be funny if everybody who bought it turned out to be deaf.
What OP wants us to think he's saying:
There is almost no other group that prides themselves more on wasting good money on utterly worthless shit, and then trying to furiously blow smoke up their own ass to justify it. With the help of the website audiophilia.com and two special reviews, I hope to convince you of this fact. First off, we have something mundane yet still idiotic. It's called the LessLoss Audio Devices DFPC Signature Power Cord, and don't let the name fool you, because this is literally just a power cord. A goddamned gorgeous power cord [img_thumb]http://www.audiophilia.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/lessloss.jpg[/img_thumb] But still a power cord. But no, according to our good friend Mr. Martin Appel, it's more than worth it's $1149 price. Why? Well it's simple: http://www.audiophilia.com/wp/?p=3020 Before you point it out, yes this person burnt in a power cable. As we can see, this humble power cord is practically magical in it's audio improvement qualities. Of course, there is no objective measures in this, only speak of "soundstages" and "space" and vauge comments about how the sound just SOUNDS better and it's worth it because of that. But this is practically science next to the other review. Here we have possibly the worst woo I have ever seen. The AER Disc Energizer. This magic (literally) little item supposedly improves the sound of a Cd by shining a light on it. No i'm not kidding. See for yourself: http://www.audiophilia.com/wp/?p=4744 [img_thumb]http://www.audiophilia.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/aer.jpg[/img_thumb] A LIGHT SHINED ON A READ-ON MEDIA MAKES IT SOUND BETTER There's no possible mechanism it could work on, no rhyme or reason why it would work, but it does! It makes a CD sound less digital, whatever that could possibly mean, and it does this: "Thus, the AER Energizer may mitigate or address some of the flaws of many recordings and in some way may be synergistic with Nagys digital cable." No explanation whatsoever, just a magical woo light that addresses flaws that you make up to make it seem valid. And the best part? It's almost $900 A magic CD light is $900. And people have bought it, and given it good reviews. If that doesn't speak to insanity, I have no idea what would.
What he's actually saying:
Today I went on Facepunch to get all mad because some people had more advanced technology then I did. Looking stupid, I raged about it and got laughed at. Damn faggots who are laughing at me, STFU >:C Read my post, im poor cant you see
While extremely overpriced, that power cord is sexy as hell.
This And some "High Definition Card"
What OP wants us to think he's saying: What he's actually saying:
you are a gigantic faggot and should go die in a hole
What OP wants us to think he's saying: What he's actually saying:
If you have studied those things even a little bit, you know those are useless. Power-cord is just 2-3 wires inside another wire, and making them look great or coating them in diamonds and platinum isn't going to do jack shit to its quality. And shining light on CD/DVD... that's just self-explanatory.
you are a gigantic faggot and should go die in a hole
translation:
I'm angry at my parents >:( >:( so I'll try to troll pathetically on this random internet forum. >:EEEEE
Might try to get some Sennheiser HD555s for Christmas, hope they're good. Will probably be better than the stuff in the OP though. Just a guess.
