Mac users are fucking dumb too
*buys $400 gaming keyboard*
adobe after effects is over 900 dollars and people still buy that shit
What kind of shitty comparison is that? After Effects is a professional tool for creating special effects in videos and is actually pretty cheap for professional uses.
Real audiophiles
Use Windows media player and stream shit from their harddrive

So they're used by TSA agents?
Went to this entire thread and no one mentioned how kick-ass Grado equipment is.
I've had my fair share of headphones, the best ones I've owned were called v-moda vibes which cost about $100 and looked sweet as hell, I love me some quality equipment but skullcandy looks GREAT, with decent sounds so it's okay in my book.
Here's the vibes..they've got some serious bass
1st gen

2nd gen

first gen looks nice but the second gen looks like giant piles of ass
edit:
hairy guy ass
Went to this entire thread and no one mentioned how kick-ass Grado equipment is.
Depends, I find them artificially sharp and sibilant, but then again I have sensitive ears and much prefer a warm or natural tone. My personal favourites are Beyerdynamic DT-770 and AKG K 272 HD.
I listen to mostly rap, and techno, I want high bass what's wrong with them honestly? All thereveiws on amazon said they were pretty solid, and I got em refurbished for like $30
:frog:
It isn't called techno, you chucklefuck, it's called electronic music. Techno is a subgenre of electronic music that was popular in Detroit during the 80s. You are most likely not listening to techno.
not really, i kinda understand that people who buy macs want to pay the extra $200 to get a nice aluminum chassis and a good keyboard instead of some shitty glossy plastic pos shells and wobbly "keyboard"
The only reason I bought a mac was for Steam and Garry's mod.
The only thing I hate is just shit quality audio, like cracking and fizzing.
I don't like the semi-religious 'audiophiles' who proclaim they're able to hear major differences in cables, power cords, A/V stands and other weird doo-hickeys either. Then again people sometimes associate that audiophile stereotype with everyone into audio, and I think it sucks. I'm quite sure many people stereotyping audiophiles are ready to say that they don't hear a difference between $50 and $150 headphones just out of spite, and that they think the whole concept of 'higher quality' sound is somehow stupid. I don't find it distracting per se, but some people have the habit of smearing that opinion on other peoples faces and I'm not ashamed to admit it's genuinely a bit irritating, and just another end of the holier-than-thou spectrum.
That being said I appreciate my DAC, headphone amplifier, headphones, active speakers and subwoofer that I've chosen from many candidates because they sounded the best to my own liking, because they make the recordings I like sound even better than normally :3: Audio stuff is awesome and makes gaming, music and movies way more interesting when I have yet another aspect in them to appreciate.
And just because some other people too like to mention their equipment, I'll go too. FiiO E7 DAC, Indeed G2 hybrid amplifier with RCA Black Plate tube, AKG K 272 HD and Sony XB-500 headphones, Sennheiser CX-300 II earbuds and Audio Pro Addon One active speakers with Tanget EVO E8 active subwoofer. I don't think I'll ever need an upgrade, they're plenty.

That's a pretty nice set up.
Audiophiles (real ones) aren't stupid, but they are annoying when they flip out because I can't hear a difference between 128kbps and 320kbps. I don't mind Skullcandy non-earbuds (the earbuds are complete shit, can't use them for a week without utterly destroying them), I just wish they wern't so GODDAMN EXPENSIVE.
I will say I fucking hate earbuds though. They always fall out of the ear, they're so easy to lose, and if they aren't the right size you're fucked. Far as I'm concerned, earbuds are cancer.
Personally, I just buy any headphones from the 99 cents store. v:v:v
There's a difference between an audiophile and a dumbass. The products you mentioned would only be bought by a dumbass.
I'm using a surround sound system from 2003 and everything sounds just fine to me
:colbert:
The only thing I don't like are the cables running everywhere. If they were just wireless they'd be perfect.
Real audiophiles have a Faraday cage around their home.
As do real conspiracy theorists.

My stepfather's stereo system is probably from 1985 and it sounds awesome. It'd probably sound even better if I could set the equalizer back to normal settings (he has it set up to account for his fucked up ears)
How can we forget about this?

well then you were quite stupid, as you took the one with worse price-to-gain ratio when it comes to pure power and performance
If I'm going to buy electronics (notably headphones) I'd rather spend more :10bux: on headphones with a better build quality and aesthetics than buy cheap twenty dollar skullcandies that will disintegrate in your hands.
I had exactly that experience. $39 skullcandy earbuds for christmas, I noticed that the earpiece was too small so I gently removed the silicon bit and put on the large set. When I removed them from my ears after listening to some music, the plastic tube that holds onto the silicon piece SNAPPED.
The most delicate thing on headphones should be the cable, not the actual housing!

Personally, I'd pay more for a decent battery and a housing that won't shatter and scratch just by looking at it. Powerful laptops that are nicely priced have to cut corners on quality somewhere, most of them go for the battery or the casing... While Apple's laptops aren't blisteringly fast for what you pay, they seem "Balanced" compared to a lot of the stuff you would find at Best Buy.

Well, I said that people buy apples for their good build quality etc in my original post, I meant that buying mac just for processing power is stupid.
oh my fucking god
i just read through that review of the power cable, and i find this gem:
It is without doubt that the LessLoss Signature power cords must take their place in the top echelon of power cords and at less than half the price of my Acoustic Zen Absolute reference are an audiophile bargain and I most highly recommend them. They will not leave my system.
did you catch that
here, ill bold it for you:

i use a mac because there are some great applications for music making and video editing that just don't have a good counterpart on the PC
they actually have some sort of use, i know, it may come as a surprise to some of you
A lot of top audio equipment companies are foreign. So not into our economy, no.
are you assuming i live in the same country as you ?
