Get a Tesla Roadster instead

I'm not sure if that's hideous or sexy
I've got a VW Golf 2, it's really great, quite fast for a small car and uses almost no fuel or oil, bought it for 400 euro's about 6 years ago, still running and almost up to 200.000km, refilled the oil once.
But if you really are spoiled, then get the Passat or Bora, Passat is a great car but it's expensive.
I know jack shit about cars, but that one looks nice.
It looks nice but you should use the Cars thread for this
Get what i got, http://tomasz.data2net.org/gallery-albums/album99/Passat_009_Medium.jpg :D Passat for the win, up to 50mpg !
passat.
Bike > all

$400 bucks, runs fine. (Except in the winter when the speedometer flies up and down like a pendulum.)
I have been thinking about buying a car for years now but keep getting owned by the fact that I am a student and can travel trough the whole country for free on the greatest public transport network in the world (Netherlands) for free.
I want a Ford Mustang but well, will do with a Honda Civic/Crx or some VW golf.
Maybe a 3 series BMW.
I think we should be asking a better question.
Do you think you deserve either car?

What do you need to do to earn a cheap, mediocre car. What did you do, bag groceries? Oh wait you probably don't have a car.
How much L fit into your tank?
I got an Opel Corsa B 1.2L V4 16V - Not really the fastest but fits mit requirements - and I get around 640km per tank (45 L).
lol i got a corsa c 1.2 16v
(2nd car)
lol i got a corsa c 1.2 16v

Oh wow 16v. Nice, regular 1.2 would've been a lot worse.
The reason it's difficult to find diesel cars in my area is because I live in California and they have the most stringent environmental laws in the US. Meaning diesel cars (besides the 2009-2010 TDI Jettas)aren't supposed to be here.

55L tank. How do you only get 640km per tank on an engine that small? Have you done an oil change? Upgraded to platinum plugs? Changed your air filter? Made sure your tires have the proper PSI? You should be getting almost 750km per tank with an engine that small. My 3.4L gets almost as much.
I would say the Passat is better, we have those in england and we call the Jetta a Bora (i think) My dad used to have the Passat before he got a Ford Mondeo and he loved it, very fuel efficient too.

R R R RICE ROCKET! Ha, but I actually like the Mitsu's. I quiet enjoy their rally class vehicles. Got anything aftermarket on her?
I prefer diesel engines because they are more efficient, reliable, and I like the sound.

TRACTOR :v:
I prefer diesel engines because they are more efficient, reliable, and I like the sound.
I wouldn't say reliable. They may last longer because diesel burns cleaner, but as for random break downs, the two are one and the same.
Also, why does everyone in England on a Ford Mondao?
Our family's main car is 04, you're lucky :saddowns:

Newer doesn't mean better... my 03 has outlasted some of my friends 07's and 08's.
If you're willing to also sacrifice safety standards and protection against the elements (motorcycling in the rain doesn't look fun).
Just a question: Have you ever ridden a motorbike on the street?
You don't get a motorbike to cruise in comfort, you get one because they're cheap, fast, agile and it's exhilarating to ride.
Yes, it's more dangerous, yes, you can get extremely cold or unbearably hot, yes, you're at a much higher risk of obtaining an injury, but you can't beat the feeling that you're flying when you're zipping down the street with nothing keeping you vertical except momentum ;)
On topic:
I mainly drive a Holden Jackaroo (rebranded Isuzu Trooper). It's actually my parents, but they never use it any more and my brother doesn't like driving it.
Best shot I can find of it:

It's got a 3 ft whip radio aerial mounted to the left side of the roo bar (a 'bull bar' but not as beefy - hurrr geddit?) because on the camping trip that photo was taken on the automatic telescopic aerial was bent when I drove past a tree :saddowns:
When I get the money (after getting a motorbike first ;) ) I'm thinking about getting a SWB 4WD, like this Suzuki Sierra:

Laugh if you want but that's the most I can hope for.
I'm getting a budget soon and I bet I won't be able to get anything other than a loser cruiser like a Metro or something of that nature. A Civic or an Escort will most likely be out of my price range.
When I get my first car it's going to be like one of those Top Gear cheap car challenges. I'm not looking forward to it.

Mk1 Jetta is far more superior than that of the mk5. Cheap, simple engine, cheap, 50mpg, cheap, no airbags, cheap, good-looking, and cheap.

You're a little fairy boy.
EDIT: I know they're not safe, I own a mk1 pick up. However, arguing is fun.
In crash tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Mark 1 received five out of five stars in a 56 km/h (35 mph) frontal crash test for both driver and passenger protection.
Any crash you get into that's over 35 mph, shouldn't hurt "too" bad.
@ 60 The link was a fail on googles part, I took it down once I noticed that it was a Golf. Search "mk1 jetta safety rating", and click the first link.

Good reviews, but sadly those who had an accident with it aren't alive to tell about it.
Oh, why you took the link to http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews1324.html away? Oh it was the wrong car.
I wish i was a ricer :)
