• Getting A Car
Laugh if you want but that's the most I can hope for. I'm getting a budget soon and I bet I won't be able to get anything other than a loser cruiser like a Metro or something of that nature. A Civic or an Escort will most likely be out of my price range. When I get my first car it's going to be like one of those Top Gear cheap car challenges. I'm not looking forward to it.
That is why it is called a FIRST CAR. My first car was 1989 Chevy Cavalier. Made of solid steel and was a very faded blue color. Tons of smoke pouring out of it, the tensioner was loud as all hell and I had to hit the catalytic converter with a hammer to start it in the winter. I only got a nice car about 3 years ago when I got my Alero.
EDIT: I know they're not safe, I own a mk1 pick up. However, arguing is fun.
You want to talk about "unsafe"? Here's my current ride... lol
I actually like old diesels, but my dad wants me to have something more recent.
I drive a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero 3.4L V6. Costs me 55 dollars CND to fill her up, and I get 600km per tank. Damn great car. Though I would switch to diesel if I didn't like the getup and go of a petrol engine. Tis me washing my car.
It looks like you're feeding it...
Passats and Jettas are extremely boring, dull and uncool.
I guess that's your opinion, not fact.
If you want a VW get a Golf. A GTI if you can afford it.
If you want a VW get a Golf. A GTI if you can afford it.
And why again Golf is better than a Passat
1 year and 3 months till I can drive. Knowing me I will crash into a garden knome and somehow blow the car up.
Passats and Jettas are extremely boring, dull and uncool.
Passat has a bit of the "business"-style in it. It won't scream TEENAGER like all ugly ricers or the Golf does.
The Passat is more family than business. It's by no means a bad car, it's just... not very exciting.
I have a '96 Civic. It's an ugly green color. :( Still solid though, car's been in my family since it came off the lot :D
If you want a VW get a Golf. A GTI if you can afford it.
Insurance costs for a GTI would be insane. (depending on age/driving history). Edit: I have an 08 GTI, insurance costs a bomb. Not too bad anymore though.
I have a Jetta GLS and while it is a very nice ride the damned engine light is triggered by anything. Apparently Jettas are notorious for lots of silly electrical problems too, didn't stop me from buying one though.
What do you need to do to earn a cheap, mediocre car. What did you do, bag groceries? Oh wait you probably don't have a car.
Nah you're right. But I bet insurance for a car over there is alot cheaper then over here. But then again, I'm abit too busy trying to pay for university to be able to afford a car.
I have a 99 Honda civic SI and my insurance is $1600 a year.
Seems like kids have a lot more money now then when I was a kid. My first car was $25 and had only 2nd and 3rd gears and no reverse. Air bags were not invented at the time so I didn't have them either.
Once I get the money to get a car, I'm gonna try to get a Jeep like this. Luckily my dad has one that I can buy off of him someday. Or get an older version of the Hyundai Elantra (year 2001)
Newer doesn't mean better... my 03 has outlasted some of my friends 07's and 08's.
Exactly, anyway, you could have a 59 plate Nissan, but i would still rather have our 03 plate 530d [editline]09:24PM[/editline]
TRACTOR :v:
Have you heard a tractor without a proper exhaust?! Sounds like the buggies off BF2 [editline]09:25PM[/editline]
Once I get the money to get a car, I'm gonna try to get a Jeep like this. Hmm if we talking cars this is my baby .... toyota vios really good gas mileage
4x4's are for queers and off road enthusiasts
I won't use it for offroading. 4x4 doesn't necessarily mean you have to drive in the desert or something. It's just an SUV. I'd use it for driving, storing stuff, and that's it.
