electronic is a giant umbrella term now, it can mean giant orchestral shit to a hip hop beat (clubbed to death by rob dougan) or really instrumental sounding and very authentic sounding music.
if you're into music as music and not just self image and/or genres, and you seem to be, there's probably at least one genre of electronic you like.
i mean shit, radiohead is very electronic a lot of the time.

I know electronica is an umbrella term. If I didn't, I'd be calling all electronic music techno still.
I'm not saying it doesn't sound authentic, I don't think it's al "BEE BOOP BEE BOP WUBWBUWB" I've been exposed to enough to have a decent understand of the subgenres and how it's arranged.
I also understand that the mainstream isn't a good example of electronica either, and I'm not basing my opinion on it through that either
