bump, couple bowls in the bubbler. looked at the truck.. 99% sure i'm buying it, $1200.. it has only sat for 4 months though it's (quite) rusty - a cab mount bracket (part of the frame) and a rear shock mount are both fucked - the frame as well. The previous owner has had it for 5 years and cared about the truck enough to keep it running/clean, the engine runs great.. Doesn't seem to have any issues at all as far as the drivetrain. Guy has replaced quite a bit on the truck and was totally forward about the cab mount and rear shock mount.
frame rot in some places but we'll just weld some steel reinforcement on the places that are really bad to pass inspection.. My pops is using it as an excuse to look into getting a nice arc welder and i'll be learning how to weld on my truck :D I'm looking at buying this truck as being the ultimate way for me to tinker (ie learning to weld) and still have a really useful vehicle (full size 4x4 V8 (350cid, 5.7L), extended cab, 6ft bed i think. locking rear diff as it's a Z71 Chevy)

I usually eat them slowly, like eat some of them, then in five minutes eat more. And personally I like going outside when I'm tripping, only when the weather's pleasant.

Last night I stepped in dog shit walking into the house because the fucking neighbours dog took a shit in the middle of the culdersac so I left my shoes outside, the sprinkler for the flowers goes off and soaks my shoes in the middle of the night and it's been raining and snowy and cold out so my shoes were pretty much drenched in cold water. I still managed about a half hour and a snowball fight with my sister, plus I got some good pictures of her, and told her my feet were cold and I'd take her out again later today before it melts.
Immediately my mom asks my sister if she's going out to play again and of course she think that means we're going out right that second, so I say that we came in because my feet are frozen and we were going out once they warm up a little so I don't get fucking frostbite or something from sitting in water drenched shoes out in the snow (note: not my actual words)

Uhh.. Just above absolutely disgusting. Driving like a grandpa in the city with the 350, maybe 14-15 mpg? It doesn't really bother me, i'm going to be the only person driving it often (and, if i have my way, not my lead-foot brother who would probably average 8-9mpg) and i'll only have to pay for most of my gas.. I'll get free gas every now and then if i use the truck for work :D
I've never had a car with anything smaller than a 3.3L V6 that got about 15-16 MPG so I'm used to it by now. I figure by the time we finish buttoning her up, gas prices might be going down again. I know I'm not gonna freeze my ass off trying to fix the truck when i can wait for warmer days.
From what I'm reading, the cab mount being fucked doesn't really make the truck fail inspection, luckily.. Basically, the rear cab mounts are just brackets welded to the frame that the back of the cab sits on (well, the cab sits on a bit of rubber with a bolt through it that is bolted to the bracket) and if the bracket rusts out and that bit of rubber falls through, the cab sags a bit on that side in the back. The cab is still secured to the frame, the ass end of the cab is just riding a little lower.

and the shock mount is just a simple cut off the old one/bolt on the new one kinda thing. $130 for a set of shock mounts, gonna do both shock mounts + probably new shocks both sides in the rear while we're at it

oh yea, radio doesn't work. boohoo. there are some old-ish head units in the shop, probably find one that'll work well.
there's this crazy thing for the fan/ac/heat, a whole like digital display and this crazy "blend" mode or some shit.. it all works which is way awesome, the whole gauge cluster works etc etc just the radio doesn't, who knows what is wrong there. think could have just shit the bed for no reason or it could just be a fuse.

Buy something glass. You want something reasonably thick to prevent issues with breakage for sure.
I'd recommend a spoon-type pipe for a first pipe. I don't have any idea where you live, but a lot of pipes on Etsy are good for the price:
