Fluffernutter. Bump. Bowls, bowls bowls! Another twenty minutes i'm going out for bed bowls, watching an hour or so of TV, throwing some wood in the woodstove and coming in to pass out.

Buying that truck tomorrow.. Repeating it cause i don't really believe it yet. We're gonna rent a little carrier and tow the bitch back to the house, if it isn't too terribly cold tomorrow i'm gonna start on fixing the through and through body holes

A bit of work ahead of me, but it should very well be worth it. Truck should ride like a dream after changing both rear shock mounts, both rear shocks, fixing/jury rigging the cab mount bracket to hold the cab up (if it is sagging enough to bother me) and a nice cleaning in and out (oh and some rust neutralizer/bondo work on the couple through and through body holes).

The rear shock mounts and rear shocks are gonna be ~$2-300 in total, the rear shocks are really kinda optional though and the mounts alone are $130 so that's not so bad

and later in the truck's life, i'll probably try to trade her in and get a nicer truck.. maybe fix her up good enough to be worth keeping/fixing up/driving and get another beater POS to learn stick in for shits and giggles

I've never had a car with anything smaller than a 3.3L V6 that got about 15-16 MPG so I'm used to it by now. I figure by the time we finish buttoning her up, gas prices might be going down again. I know I'm not gonna freeze my ass off trying to fix the truck when i can wait for warmer days.

From what I'm reading, the cab mount being fucked doesn't really make the truck fail inspection, luckily.. Basically, the rear cab mounts are just brackets welded to the frame that the back of the cab sits on (well, the cab sits on a bit of rubber with a bolt through it that is bolted to the bracket) and if the bracket rusts out and that bit of rubber falls through, the cab sags a bit on that side in the back. The cab is still secured to the frame, the ass end of the cab is just riding a little lower.

and the shock mount is just a simple cut off the old one/bolt on the new one kinda thing. $130 for a set of shock mounts, gonna do both shock mounts + probably new shocks both sides in the rear while we're at it

Yeah, gas sucks ass. My girlfriend's car which is a 3.8 v6 gets about 20 in town which is pretty good. Vehicles always need work but at least then you have a nice reliable vehicle.

Do me a favor and don't install PC components stoned as shit, I double checked my CPU cooler because it seemed kinda shoddy and I realized I had left the plastic on there...Picture shows where I mean (not my picture), it was a very thin piece of plastic. My temperatures are now about 35 degrees cooler.

That wasn't plastic, it was thermal transfer paste/foam. If it was plastic it would've melted/burst into flames.
